Description: While the E-5 blaster was the standard blaster rifle for the droid forces of the CIS, it was clear that the E-5 had obvious shortcomings, One, it's that its design made it more suitable for droids to wield it instead of organics. The weapon had a tendency to heat up, was inaccurate, and wasn't ergonomic in the hands of organics. While this made it suited for B1 battle droids, this made it ill-suited to be a weapon in usage for the Confederate Troopers, so a replacement weapon was sought out.

Eventually, the Baktoid Armor Workshop created the blaster the CIS needed. Using the standard E-5 as a template, the E-7 is essentially a modified version which is made to be used by organic troops. These modifications made it more expensive to produce than a standard E-5, but not so much that it was more expensive than it's DC-15 counterpart.

The modifications included the following. For starters, improves internal heat sinks were added to help capture heat, preventing it from harming the wielder. The barrel was also extended with perforated holes to vent any excess heat from the shots, helping to solve the heat issue. To improve accuracy, a telescopic sight and a butt stock helped grant better accuracy and stability to the weapon. And an improved foregrip helped make the weapon more comfortable to hold for Confederate Troopers.

Once unveiled, it became the standard weapon for the organic soldiers of the Confederacy by the year 24 BBY.
