Most people would think Ray and Leanna would end up together, given they are the main characters in the story. But, being that as far from the truth you can get, I present you Leanna and Bai.

Leanna has never considered herself a lesbian, or bi curious for that matter. She enjoys the company of men, sexually I mean. She always has been with them and never wandered off to other gender options. BUT, the great BUT in her relationship status always has been the fact she despises formal relationships and the whole romance included in them. She prefers relationships to be casual, free. That often lead to issues with her partners and, more often than not, to a state of usual singleness.

Bai, on the other hand, has always liked women. But being, firstly internally and afterwards both internally and externally, a female, she understood earlier on, that being wanted and feeling loved were emotions she would have to fight in order to get. Afraid of sexual interaction and emotional proximity - specially after starting her transition - her own femininity became, in her eyes, her biggest flaw. But, deep inside, she craves for that someone who will accept her whole.

Their meeting isn't the best, as often goes in this stories. But Leanna's new found possessiveness and Bai's hopeful demeanor brought them closer and closer as the world collapses around them. Their greater enemy? Bai's younger sister, Lian Wu.
