This was the first attempt at the design, actually feels a lot cleaner. Not sure whether or not to keep the eighth eye on the tail, all depends if I decide to stick with the seven eyes of God motif. I imagine that it’s just a single horn coming out of the back of his head, at least in his first form. Wanted the head to have elements of both Graboids and Chinese dragons. If I go with the idea of seven eyes I might play in elements of the seven deadly sins and their corresponding virtues into each level.

I imagine that your searching for his dreaming eyes throughout his story in order to remember your wife in a different lifetime as a human. You’d obtain these eyes by slaying the farcical warlords of the acid trip wasteland and liberating the peoples they’ve oppressed. Would kinda be like a much better version of taking down enemy strongholds in the open world Mad Max game. Maybe you’re not taking the eyes with you, but returning them to the newly freed locals. Definitely want empathy and helping out the little guy to be a major motivator and theme as well.

Will probably end up going with a design like this with a less tacky color scheme than the other design. Definitely could see something elements of Gaismagorm and Thunder Serpent Narwa in this guys fighting style. Might have him start off shooting energy attacks at you from the air before crashing to the earth and horrifically mutating. Might have an open mouthed ravenous charge like No Face from Spirited Away when on the ground. Could see him using his tail more when he’s in the air.

I could see you fighting this guy in the ruins of a floating Mesopotamian city with a cosmic purple sky as the backdrop. The stage itself might have some visual similarities to the city in the mothership fight at the end of the Toy Story level in Kingdom Hearts 3. Could see the heads of Mesopotamian statues being environmental weapons throughout the game. Perhaps the stage is a facsimile of where you lived with your wife in your past life? Perhaps he is actually a she and is the tortured soul of your wife that needs to be freed?
