Description My great uncle James Bourke died at the 3rd battle or Ypres at Broodseinde. He was in the 2nd battalion Australian Infantry. He was buried here at Tyne Cot where the 3rd Australian Division captured the blockhouse.on the 4th of October 1917. He died on that day at the age of 28. As you can see, thousands of soldiers died here during just one battle...also in this grave yard are two Australians who recieved the "victoria cross"

The most moving place I have ever been. Thank you to your grandfather for fighting for our freedom. We will never forget him and the others that died.
