He lost his sparkling thanks to his brother. Then he lost his lover, LeadClaw, the only bot keeping him sane. Finally he gave up on everything, drinking himself to recharge. Not caring about anything or anyone but himself, one could say he became an image of his own father, a cold sparkless mech. Far more crueler than Shockwave. He has to even avoid contact with him, because every time he sees him, he wants to beat the living slag out of him.

He doesn't care who's right and who's wrong in the war, all he cares about it's to deactivate anybot and take his frustration and rage out.
