Description
Hello, ladies and gentlemen! I offer commissions for 3D character portraits, such as the ones below:I specialize in 'translating' Pen & Paper RPG characters into 3D art, but I can do many things. If you'd like a piece of art such as one of these to your specifications, read on! Below I've written about how I work. Please read all of it before sending me a Note; especially the last two sections are of importance.
Commission slots (currently 4 open)
I take on a maximum of 5 commissions at any given time. Slots are filled on a first come, first serve basis. Currently I've taken on the following characters:
Check back later if all slots are filled up; they should free up rather swiftly. There may be times on which I close all slots, for instance during holidays, but I hope to keep those times to a minimum.
Step 1: concept
If you’d like to commission me for a 3D character portrait, you'll need to have a concept ready. This is at the very least a description in words and ideally you'll have some reference pictures to show as well. When you have these materials in order to form a concept, contact me through a Note. I'll have a quick look at your concept and I'll let you know if I think I'll be able to make something that'll be to your satisfaction.
Step 2: payment
After we've started the process and I've accepted your concept, it is required that a third of the price is paid, rounded down to whole dollars, as a non-refundable deposit. This is for the work I'll put in being able to present you with the first draft of your character(s). I'll start the draft after having received this first payment. After we're done and you’re satisfied with the full work, it will be required to pay the remainder.
Payments will need to be made through PayPal. At this time, I do not accept DeviantArt points as a form of payment.
Step 3: developing
After having received your fist payment, I'll start on the first version of the commission, the 'draft'. This one, and all following revisions, will be at lower resolution and they'll have a watermark. These mainly serve to show what I'm doing to visualize your concept. This is the step during which you may give me feedback on how the commission progresses. After we can agree I'm done, we move on to the final step.
One important caveat: it may be that despite my confidence that I would be able to get close enough to your concept, you may not be satisfied with what I can show you. If I'm not able to make something that you're happy with, you may cancel the process at this point. If you do, you're obviously not required to make the final payment. Read more about it below.
Step 4: finishing up
After we agree the commission is done, you'll have a week to get the final payment to me. After receiving the final payment, I'll get the high resolution version, without a watermark, delivered to you. And then we're done! Hopefully you'll be a happy customer and I hope to see you again
Important information
One important thing to keep in mind about my commissions is that they're imprecise, in a sense. Due to how I make these commissions, I'm limited to the 3D resources I have available. I'm forced to interpret your concept to some degree, and the result may not be to your liking. Instead of cancelling as detailed earlier, you may also opt to help me acquire 3D resources. However, this will require extra payment - anything from $10 to $50 or even more, depending on what'd be needed.
All commissions I make are covered by the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivatives 4.0 International License . You can read about what that means in the link. Specifically, the high resolution version I send you as part of the commission process is covered by this license.
Any work I create can be used in my own portfolio, unless we come to a different agreement before the definitive commission.
I am willing to take on erotic and nude commissions, but I may refuse characters or scenes that I deem too extreme.
Costs
The costs for my 3D character portraits are as follows:
- Base price: $10
- Each additional character (maximum 4 extra): $5
- Adding a large vehicle/mech/beast of burden/...: $10
- Using very specific 3D resources and/or catering to very specific wishes: costs are variable, as explained above.
