when you do a majority of penciling and then switch to inking, it's a hard transition. You're handling it well but i understand why you don't like it. It's a different animal. Just keep doing it and it'll grow just as everything else does=]

WOW! thats pretty damn impressive. the lines look real solid, its really good, and the shading technique is also of some awesome quality, i really like the subtleness of the cross-hatching!!!!

wow!! how can you said that you suck in inking?
that is very great work.
i have a question, why you not put a text in your comic? or that is your style

Mmmm I like the pencil version way better...there was a lot more emotion and expression...and overall feeling it seems. The inking makes it too sterile and less "feeling".

a neat solution might be to combine both your clean inks with your nicely rendered pencils.

You definitely don't suck at inking! But there's not as much of the fantastic detail of shading that you have in your pencil panels. I, personally, like the pencil better! Great job on the DD, btw!

Your inking is actually very good. The only thing that isn't working for me is the lack of texturing on the stone, especially compared to the pencil version of this page. There's also that the two images appear to be identical situations - taken 10 to 12 hours apart. The differences in shading and shadow definition make this look like a strobe light is being run, whereas the pencils are clearly a night-time setting - torchlit, in fact. Now, changing things like this is your prerogative as the artist, but you're deluding yourself if you don't think that's going to affect how people respond to the piece. Your inking technique (line quality, use of line weight, etc.) is definitely good enough that your inked work could be as good and powerful, if not even better than, your pencils, but this rendition just feels... I don't know, unfinished. Like you didn't quite do all the things in ink that you did with pencil, or didn't quite settle on how you wanted the scene to play out, or never quite settled on where your lightsource is - and since everything is more consistently finished in the pencils, the excellence of your inking technique is lost. These inks could definitely work with good colors... but they don't quite manage to stand alone. Yet.

not to say your inking sucks, but i like the pencils better, it seems to keep the emotion and you get a better feel for how the characters relate to the background

Awesome, but the other ones have more texture.
What if you were to try using more line on this? I mean etching.

I like this in ink, it has a sort of minimalist feel to it. Yeah, some of the shading is lost, but it really brings out and enhances the characters. With the lines more defined, I can see the emotions and details of the face, clothing, and setting much better. I particularly like how their eyes came out.
Great work on either pencil or ink. I prefer ink, but really, the choice is up to you as to whether or not you like it.

I like the penciled page better, if only because it has more texture. In the inks, you took out all of the background shading, and it doesn't look as good. If you could incorporate all of the shading into your inks, or even just put some pencil back in, this would be fantastic.
And no, your inking doesn't suck. You've got great smooth lines, great definition, and the drawings themselves are amazing.

hmm... I like your inking... This page in pencil really is better, but that's just because the other is completely amazing and this is only good.
But aren't you going to add any screen tones to this?

No, you're definitely good at inking ~_^ The shadows are rendered so so well... What don't you like about it (curious)? I am beginning to learn about inking, and this is an interesting example for me to see

"I don't know but I think I suck in inking" If you sucked at inking, then nobody could say they're good at it.
This page rocks! The page, the effects, the contrast!
