Yes it did, thank you for the tips and for the refs...I cracked up when I saw the anime "what not to do" hairstyles
Man, I adore the way you draw boys and you're right, it is sometimes hard to draw them without looking too feminine. The different face/jaw shapes will be very helpful!

Man this was helpful! Most of my characters are boys and sadly, I can't draw boys to save my life. That is changing now! I'm gonna start practicing ASAP.

LOL! Quite a cool looking tutorial.
On a site called Newgrounds, which is like 90-99% males; a common question you'd see is like "can anyone help me on female anatomy?"
It's interesting how females tend draw feminin guys and how males tend to draw masculin girls! : P

This tutorial is very helpful, thank you! I lkove how easy to understand it is
Also, for the first batch of real-life examples, who is the boy on the far left? He looks really familiar and I'm going mad trying to remember ><

Ahaha, to combat the sameness of male faces (I faced this from years and years of drawing 'manga' style since like.. fourth grade, it was absolutely awful) I created a 'man bucket' file for my computer, so I can save interesting faces and use them for character references later. It's really helped a lot and it never hurts to have an excuse to save a lot of pictures of cute actors on my hard drive~ XD
I've learned a lot of this from some really awkward girlish looking trial and error in the past years, but I definitely love this anyway <3 I also really like eyebrows for facial differentiation, they can really add to a face, you know?

A lot of it is in the jaw and the width of the neck and eyebrows...I find, anyways. And guys actually do have longer eyelashes than girls, they just shoot out straight and don't curl upwards (: I knew this shtuff already, but it would be very helpful for someone who doesn't, and I love the real life examples

This was hilarious, and I admit, I used to have a ton of trouble drawing boy faces that didn't look like girls. Your real-life examples were a riot as well (yay, ogle-fest). Thanks for the tips =]

Probably you're so used to draw well that i can tell this is a boy. Maybe a young boy, but i understand very wel what you mean.
I had, and i still have the problem of drawing all face alike (i have trouble to tell the differences in real life). So i use 3d references i build for myself for help me with differences.
But i guess many times it can be lazyness.

Yea, I understand. It just takes a lot of practice and character study and reference.
