Iβ₯swimming! I'm Italian and swimming is my favourite sport! Iβ₯London, too. I use Gimp, a graphic programme, and I participate in a Gimp's forum. Can I use this image for a graphic contest? It isn't a commercial contest and I put the credits! This is the link of the contest: [link]
Thank you!
P.S. I'm Italian and I didn't write with Google traductor: excuse me for the mistakes, I have only 13.

was that a backstroke flip-turn? Great shot

Actually, its about 3/4 of the way through a normal one. One the feet touch the side from this point, the swimmer would have turned over......

Thanks for that. I've been watching them on the Olympics. It is easier to follow on video, but this was an excellent shot

I love how you can see the water still leaving his foot from the take-off.
The detail in this is amazing. And the edges are blurred out where they should be. (:
Good job~

Amazing shot! It looks like they're doing a flip-turn!
Your camera, although expensive, is simply amazing!

I love it! It's so atypical as swim photography goes.

I've been wondering... how'd you get 25,600 ISO? I have the same camera but it's not letting me go past 6400 ><

Sure it's a 5D? Try the NR settings.

NR? Actually I've just checked it out in the menu and found out how to take off the limiting...
But still curious what you meant by NR
And yeah, it's a 5D Mark II.

Shit son you got banding in your water! Sweet shot though. Run it through a noise reduction program.

It's possible with a 5D.

It would, most definitely... Just gotta post-edit the stuff to look less grainy/noisy.

there was no noise reduction done to this pic...just the power of the 5D
but to think that if there was any noise reduction, it be awesome

ahhh, i'm probably going to be visiting bu in the spring. yeah, college search.
i quite like this. whoever doesn't like high iso speeds can sit on it and spin.

the canon 5d mark II...the newer canon goes to 102,400 iso...

Amazingly captured shot! When I saw it first time, it immediately made me smile because I love to swim. It has a big part in my life.
Congratulations on the DD as well, you really deserved it because this photo definitely is special!

i've shot at 12800 a couple of times (because i actually needed to)..
i still wonder though if you could have shot this on 6400 and 1/400 and if i'd still look frozen. well you'll know better. i never shoot water in motion on purpose.. well once i did.. but that's studio...
at 6400 you don't push the sensor. it's the actual sensitiviy and produces much nicer images if correctly exposed. that's why i mention it.
interesting moment "frozen" here

haha yeh know the new canon sky rockets to 102k iso...
insane. but i know i could have shot it at 6400 and a lower shutter...tbh i like the look of the gritty and grain of 6400 i shoot a lot of my sports at 6400, but this photos was like, hey i can do it.. so why not?! this was actually used in my portfolio for my final presentation to graduate.
sorry for the late repsonse, its been about like 4 months since ive been on dA..been so busy, but thats about to change !
but thank you, i appreciate that you like it, and enough to actually say something about it, thank you.
