No, the thorns weren't inspired by Witchblade but by another comic book character : Dawn by Michael Linsner.

Squeak, the thorned rose reminds me to much of Dawn(Linser), but oh well. I like it a lot, espically the texture you caputred in the rose and thorns.

Truth be told, it was inspired by Linsner's dawn, cuz i was poking around for a prom flower and it sorta imposed itself like that...

After checking in my collection, the latest mini-series Linsner is working on is indeed called 'Three Tiers' and it's a 6 issues mini-series. The third got out last month if memory serves....
