It was a Tuesday afternoon when Kathrine and Ashleigh first met.

It began with a case of cramps. Bad cramps. Kathrine almost doubled over in pain, it was so bad. 'Is it that time of the month again? No, it can't be...'

Something squirmed beneath her hands. Startled, she moved them away, only to find, there beneath her breasts... A patch of pale skin, with a human face. Something more beat away at the skin of her stomach, something human, working to free itself from beneath her skin. She thought she might faint.

The rest of the process was a blur of pain and exhilaration for Kathrine. One moment her lower torso was struggling and gasping all on its own, and the next she had fallen to the ground, held upright by a pair of freckled arms reaching out from her hips. The arms were not hers. Neither was the voice grunting, "Gods above, could you be any heavier? Like the split didn't hurt to begin with..."

Kathrine screamed. Ashleigh grunted, every move she made causing Kathrine to scream louder.

It was a long time before Kathrine quieted down, whether because she was out of breath or because she had finally gotten over the shock of another girl's head and chest extruding from beneath her ribcage. Ashleigh cracked a smile. "There you go, see? Not so bad once you get used to it. You're Kathrine, right?" Kathrine nodded mutely. "Good, good. I'm Ashleigh. You and me, Kat, we're gonna be fast friends from here on out. Now, mind standing up for me? My arms aren't as strong as our legs."

"Our...?"

"You heard me. We've only got one pair between us. Now are you gonna stand up or what?"
