Description
I've been really wanting to make a Metroid scene for a while. So what better way than to make a scene based on Samus battling Ridley? I based the area around Norfair with lava pouring in and Chozo statues. I had to create the lava texture since I couldn't find a good one. I tried really hard to get the lighting and camera angle right. I spent a lot of time messing with the lava texture to create the proper lighting and setting up a lot of different sources of light to make it really look like they're in lava-filled cavern. I also added the bloom lighting in the render to help add the feeling of heat to the scene and I enhanced the effect in photoshop around the green lights of Samus' suit and the lights on Ridley's armor and eyes.
