Description

With finishing my one Unbreakable Machine Doll Fancharacter, the Puppeteer Vivian, I have to get finished on some of the Automatons she owns and handles. Well here's one of her two ones.

I think I'll start here with the cuter of her two dolls, Mialy. Mialy is a strong gunner-type doll who also acts almost like a super cute big sister figure towards Vivian. One of two of Vivian's (A.K.A. Imp Claws) Automatons she would use in the Wiseman Competition, and later on for other things too.

Oh and another thing, Mialy is a Banned Doll too. You'll have to watch the series to know what a Banned Doll is in Machine Doll. Fortunately the Wiseman Competition does not exclude these sorts of dolls, but still, Mialy is used less frequently in combat than her other more fearsome-looking, more agile, (but weaker in terms of power) Automaton, Draghignazzo.

For stuff on her Puppeteer, Vivian, look here.

Now for the Bio on this adorable Automaton Girl of Vivian's.

Name: Mialy

Race: Automaton/Banned Doll

Puppeteer: Vivian Grier

History: Mialy originally belonged to Vivian's brother, Lucas Grier. She is an Automaton built using some organic components to her, the kind of Automatons that would eventually become forbidden to use by standard rules. It is unknown who the deceased person was who was used to create her, but is is known that the said girl had donated her body to science post-mortem. .

Before Vivian's escape from her family household, Lucas would often allow Vivian to practice utilizing Mialy. Although she could never really leave the house and use her outside, it gave her a great grasp on Machinart and how to handle an Automaton, especially due to Mialy's friendly appearance, and due to being a partially organic doll, was less strenuous on Vivian's mana. She had tried earlier before with her brother's other doll, Galahad, but found Galahad too difficult for her to handle. Lucas for a time saw a lot of use in Mialy, until the day came where the new rule disallowing Automatons with organic components to be used in competitive uses. Despite this, Lucas kept her around, even after Lucas acquired for his sister the monstrous pterosaur-like Draghignazzo as a proper non-organic Automaton for her.

Once Vivian made her escape from the family household, Lucas gave Mialy to his sister Vivian, knowing that she'd need a bit more extra firepower than just from Draghignazzo to make her getaway, and so that his sister would have someone to keep her company and perhaps for self-defense. She was heartbroken to leave her old Puppeteer, but would soon find how loving of a new owner Vivian would be. Regardless, she still sometimes misses Lucas.

After Vivian joined Walpurgis Academy, she found that the Wiseman Competition actually did not exclude these "Banned Dolls" like most other rules. Although Vivian still was hesitant to use her, Mialy finally found more use battle. And much later on, she would find she'd be fighting a lot more than other competitors when a new crisis emerged.

Regardless though, Mialy tends to enjoy more of just being a cuddly companion to Vivian and giving her hugs and snuggles whenever she can and making Vivian feel happier.

Personality: Mialy is a very cheerful and sweet Automaton, acting almost like a big sister figure towards Vivian. Largely optimistic and kind, she really loves hugs and cuddles. Although Mialy doesn't get to fight as much, this doesn't bother her too much and she loves being a cuddle toy, and often times Vivian likes to hug and pet her and snuggle her to make herself feel better. Heck, Mialy is known at times to surprise glomp Mialy or her friends. She can be a little bit sensitive to insults towards her though, and at times she misses her old owner, Lucas. This does not make her nonviolent though, as for she will nonhesitantly carry out any attack command by her puppeteer.

Like the other Banned Dolls, Mialy can eat just like a regular person. Her favorite food is all types of pasta.

Draghignazzo likes Mialy despite how she doesn't seem to take things as seriously as he does, and thinks that she would be a great backup should anything ever happen to him.

Mialy has had some unexpected meetings with the Puppet Maker, Shouko. However, Shouko finds her to be an inferior and poorly designed Automaton, which makes Mialy very unhappy.

Abilities: Mialy when going into combat can arm herself with several firearm weapons. Her standard weaponry is a pair of barrel-shaped arm cannons that appear over her hands. Her secondary ones are a total of four large floating clockwork muskets that also suddenly appear around her, though these are only used for her stronger attacks. With all of them summoned, this gives her a total of six guns.

As you might imagine, Mialy is a sort of Gunner-Type doll who bombarding enemies from a distance. The barrel cannons fire energy-based projectiles with a slow firerate, but do considerable damage and have excellent range and projectile speed. The cannons can also be charged for a much more powerful shot. The extra four muskets are stronger in terms of power, but cannot be charged up. As such, her attack strength is notably powerful.

Also a passive ability of Mialy's is that she has a sort of resistance to non-physical harm. Things like elemental or other such attacks, though not completely immune, will have less of an effect on her than other ones. Plus, she's a Banned Doll, so she can sustain mana by herself better than others, making her not completely reliant on her puppeteer, Vivian.

Although Mialy has quite a lot of guns to fight with, she has few means of fighting up-close, making her easier to take on at close ranged combat. Also though she has resistance to non-physical damage, physical harm on the other hand will be especially effective on her.

• Fin Cannon (1-5): The name given to Mialy's basic attack. She equips her arm cannons and fires energy bullets from them. The number given corresponds to how strong of a blast she is firing, though stronger fire require Mialy to charge them up first. They sort of open up in a way when charging. A fully charged shot from them hits with the force of an artillery shell.

• Blast Ascent: Requires Mialy to charge her arm cannons first. Mialy jumps and fires the charged cannons directly below her, propelling herself a great distance by the force of the blast. Basically like a "Rocket Jump" for Mialy.

• Sixpence Artillery: Mialy calls forth her extra four clockwork muskets and fires them in conjunction with fire from her arm cannons, bombarding the foe with an overwhelming barrage.

I still need to watch this anime, but she's one adorable girl for sure. That hair sorta reminds me of Rem from Re:zero, and the guns remind me of Promethian weapons from Halo, but more ancient-looking. Would be neat to see her fighting with Vivian.

Also you said "organic components," does that mean she's like a cyborg or something?

A couple people told me her hair sorta looks like Rem, but I haven't heard anyone compare her guns to Halo Promethian guns yet.

Well you'll have to actually watch Machine Doll to know why, but yes the "Banned Dolls" do incorporate organic parts into them, and you'll see why they aren't allowed by standard rules in the series (though thankfully not every match has these kinds forbidden). Even so, the Machine Doll fanmade stuff I'm trying to make has the conflict erupt into something involving foes who don't exactly play by the rules.

Yeah, her clockwork muskets remind me of the Promethean Scattershot in ways.

And what do you mean by "Erupt into something involving foes who don't exactly play by the rules?" You mean like terrorists or something like that?

Huh, they do kinda look like it. What do you know? Though this one isn't so much of a spreading weapon though.

I should give you some context. The original anime started with the main characters fighting in a robot fighting tournament, the main character hoping to get back at this one guy he really hates. Though he later branches out into some other threats including a literal serial killer, and an insane laboratory doing live experimentation on humans (even if it means seriously harming them).

In mine, by "Erupt into something involving foes who don't exactly play by the rules," the new threat that arises involves a rogue Supercomputer (who happens to be built by said insane laboratory as a means of continuing their scientific progress should their founder be compromised), and then it creates an army of new more advanced robots, and starts abducting humans to use as both sources of power and live test subjects/material for said experimentation and creation of new robots. And eventually because of how much the good guys resist, it starts sending said creations to launch full-scale assaults as a means of subduing the resistance of those whom it has deemed a threat to itself and its operations.

If you ever played video games like System Shock, it's sorta like that.

By that, the said robots created by the Rogue Supercomputer aren't interested in the competition or the well being of mankind. Humans are required in its work and it will resort to any means necessary in its power to further said advancement like it was built to do. Oh and the said attacks get so bad they have to postpone the said competition because of how huge it has gotten.

That sounds so cool. Reminds me of the Plot Twist in Megaman Battle Network 3, with at first Megaman and Lan trying to win the N1 Grand Prix tournament, but then they have even worse and more important things to worry about with the Supercomputer Alpha and even have to postpone the tournament. Though this Supercomputer foe sounds a lot worse than Alpha if you ask m.

By the way, ever heard of "Instrumental Convergence?" Because this sounds like that sort of plot here, how an AI Supercomputer given enough power and even a purpose that isn't meant to be harmful could end up causing a massive catastrophe and act in harmful ways its creators never could've predicted, solely because of its function or goal-content integrity, means of self-protection, freedom from interference in its work, means of self-improvement, and non-satiable acquisition of additional resources (which as you mentioned, requires humans). I always loved that sort of plot, gives it a sort of "Science has gone too far" sort of thing.
As they say, "The AI Does not hate you nor does it love you, but you are made of atoms which it can use for something else."

I have already seen the design and weapons so nothing to add there, but it's my first time seeing her full color and let me tell ya the palette is amazing. Love the combination of that blue shade and the pink, and the teal and green of the weapons complement her very much <3

Thanks. I thought it looked unique for this color scheme, and very cute too. The reason the magic rings around the top of the Muskets, and the vein-like things running along their sides is green, is because Vivian has a green Mana Color.

A friend of mine also tells me she thinks her hairstyle reminds her of Rem from RE:Zero. Was not intentional but I can see where she's coming from.

I like how her hair covers one of her eyes, and that she is taller than her puppeteer.

But her Musket Cannons are my favorite. They look so ancient and futuristic at the same time. And her blasters remind me of Megaman's mega buster.

You know, I am sure there a lot of characters with that trait of a cannon that covers or replaces the hand, not just Megaman. Samus Aran, Peridot, Cyborg in Teen Titans, Bumblebee, and a lot of other characters have Arm Cannons like that. If anything the ones for Mialy are more inspired by Samus Aran than Megaman.

Machine Doll is an anime that seems to combine ancient with futuristic things a lot, so I tried to make her Musket Cannons look like that. However, I don't think it's an anime you'd like, for it has a lot of harsh moments like two orphaned characters being experimented on by a corrupt laboratory and one nearly dying from it, one super cute human girl named Henri becoming suicidal, and a lot more, and I know how you felt when series like TMNT and Megaman Zero had things like that in them. Though many of the robot girls in it are very cute, and it has some epic battles for sure!

One more thing about Machine Doll. One character in it named Charlotte Belew (as well as her twin sister, Henri Belew), I noticed looks a whole lot like Princess Pride from Megaman Battle Network.

Good to know.

Just so you know, I get countless insperations for Navi concepts and characters for the Battle Network series and the time.

And there are some voice actors I would kill to have voice on the series as well.

I've kinda noticed.

By the way, here's a pic of Charlotte Belew from that anime, alongside Princess Pride from Battle Network. Do you see how they look very similar? -->   i.imgur.com/9eRe5qY.png

Thanks! Isn't she a cute doll? Imagine how cool it would be to see her fighting?

My one friend from work tells me that she's almost like the exact opposite of Yaya. It wasn't intentional but I could see where he's coming from, like this perhaps.

Yaya usually acts like a crazy girlfriend who accuses even the slightest hint at her Puppeteer loving someone else. Mialy acts like a cute big sister always willing to cuddle her Puppeteer and doesn't think of her Puppeteer like her boyfriend.

Yaya is a super strong hand combat fighter. Mialy is a super strong gunner type fighter.

Yaya is shorter than her Puppeteer. Mialy is actually taller than her Puppeteer as you can see (though this is more because Vivian is such a short girl).

Yaya is more resistant to physical harm but more vulnerable to non-physical harm (like how Cannibal Candy's corrosive mist and Sigmund's Luster Flare could do more damage to her). Mialy is more resistant to non-physical harm but takes heavy damage from physical strikes.

Do you agree with my friend?

KamiyaBloodVegeance In reply to Hexidextrous [2019-02-13 16:07:56 +0000 UTC]

Kinda. After seeing her profile, I can kinda see why she's a bit of opposite than Yaya.

Hexidextrous In reply to KamiyaBloodVegeance [2019-02-13 16:43:52 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, don't expect her and Yaya to get along, even though I do not think Raishin would have any problems with a Doll like her. Heck I could see Yaya freaking out when she does so much as gives him a hug just to be cute.

There are some cute scenes I had in mind though like Mialy trying to cheer up Henri when she first sees her, given how much of a depressed girl Henri can be.

In terms of battle, well Mialy definitely would have a ranged advantage against Yaya and her Sixpence Artillery attack is quite devastating, but if Yaya either dodged enough hits or resisted them enough with her high defense and got close enough to Mialy to land enough hits, Yaya could probably finish Mialy off easily. We've seen in the show that Yaya can take quite a beating, but of course, she isn't invincible. Mialy wouldn't be able to withstand as much damage.

Also Vivian has another Doll. I've yet to draw him but he's one of those purely mechanical ones, and he can fly and has Wind Type abilities. It's not uncommon for Puppeteers in the series to own more than one doll though, look at Frey and Magnus for example, who handle even more than that.

Mialy is actually stronger than Vivian's other Doll (mostly since Mialy is one of those techno-organic dolls that can harness mana by themselves to some extent). However, Vivian uses Mialy less than her other ones since those kinds of dolls are Banned by most rules you know. Plus using them both at the same time isn't easy for her either. Sounds cool?
