“Despite all this, I’m so glad you’ve finally come to your senses”, she smugly crooned whilst inspecting her newest Augment, running her open palm down their faceplate and stopping at the base of chin. “And I am sure you won’t think of me any less…”

The cyborg just stared forward, unphased by the interaction. No flinches. No twitches.
Not an iota of resistance to being manipulated in such a manner. Just the ambient sound of servos and the fluid pumps within their form overlaid atop their breathing.

The brief awkward tension was, however, interrupted by the slamming of the forcefield of the other captive; the distraught individual defiantly and desperately pleading, unable to comprehend what she was witnessing.

“Don’t worry though”, the doctor chimed whilst disengaging from the drone, beginning a vulturous walk to stare her quarry in the eye. “You’ll join him soon enough. You both were a pair to begin with, so it appears fitting to have you be a dynamic duo again.”

The captive, recoiled away from the field; stepping back deeper into the shocking white cell.

“W-what are you going to do to me?!”, muttered autumn-toned creature, tears beginning to coalesce at her lower lids.

The green menace grinned, placing her own hands behind her back in an attentive pose.

“… Modifications”, she replied in a gloating tone. “We can’t have you hopping about without being up-to-code, can we?”

As the silhouettes of mechanical nightmares began to stomp out of the shadows, and the glistening energy forcefield phased out of the existence; Ruby screamed.
