So. You want a story. By me. Let's make a deal.

Pricing

Rather than deal in cash, DeviantArt allows us to deal in points. Enough points means I can upgrade to (or keep) a Premium Membership. Points, as I calculate them, equal about 1.25 cents each. Pretty small. Professional writers can get 1-5 cents per word for short fiction. I'm going to be very generous and shave that rate way down to: 1 point for every 10 words.

Story Lengths

Since it's your budget, I need to know how long a story you want.

Flash Fiction: 100-500 words
Short, short: 510-2000 words
Short story: 2010-7500 words
Novelette: 7510-10,000 words

Anything longer and we'll work something out between us. Note: You specify the length (i.e. your budget) and I'll keep the story within that range. If I go over, it's my fault and you don't get charged any extra.

How Do We Get Started?

Contact me with a note on DeviantArt.com. Include your initial summary request (no details, just an overview and how long you want the story to be). I'll take a look and see if it's something I can do and something I can do in a reasonable amount of time. If we are in agreement, then I'll start on the story.

When it's ready, you will "donate" the points on my DeviantArt.com home page and I'll post the story.

Who Owns the Story?

I do. Plain and simple. Because of the massive reduction in cost, I need to retain the copyright for these stories. Odds are, they will never be published other than on my free sites. However, this means, please do NOT give me real first AND last names. Just the real first and make up a last name.
