I was going to ask if it was acrylic but I see you tagged it acrylic so I guess so xDĀ  What do you paint on?Ā  I just started working in acrylic on canvas and I hate the texture, I'm looking for alternatives next time I start something!

I also HATE canvas texture. I work on bristol paper if it's smallish and either polywall or gesso board if it's bigger.

Never heard of polywall. I'll have to keep an eye out for it.Ā  I think I might try some HDF (masonite) and gesso it myself.

It's not a thing people usually paint on but it's cheap and very durable. I get mine from Home Depot or Lowes. It's usually near the lumber.

Yeah I keep trying it now and again and I still hate it. It's for paintings a lot bigger than the ones I make I think. Bigger and thicker.Ā

Or just a different style entirely!Ā Ā  Some painters like it and use it for certain things but I don't think I'm going to be one of them at this stage in my learning
