Description

Barbara Shady is a former ballet dancer who does contemporary dance now and teaches different dance genres when she is not modeling. Fortunately she is modeling, too. Since I saw her works for the first time I wanted to photograph with her and now I had the chance on a workshop. It was organized by Spektrum Fotó Kft and led by Sándor Benkő, a visual artist and photographer who gives lectures in several universities both in Germany and in Hungary. He did the lights, Barbara did the poses and it was an interesting flow as I asked for one and she followed it with another, and so on. She's good.

Taking a picture of a jump like this needs you to know the choreography and feel the rhythm of the model. We worked to music therefore timing had an audio support but even so, photographer has to have a short term clearvoyance to catch the right thousandth of the second. Try to shoot it in burst mode for a certain failure (With some top level MILC cameras you even might succeed, too.)
