Szent Gellért tér, Budapest Metro line M4.
The rather claustrophobic space of the smallest metro station of the line was widened by this mosaic. Most of the station's passanger area is but a third tube but noone could feel how small it is because of this pattern. It is a bit mind boggling to stay there for a long time, but who wants to stay there for a long time? (Perhaps the security personnel...) This picture has been taken from the entrance of the tube part—behind the camera there is a tall stairwell with the escalators. The stations of this line are very short comparing to the stations of the other lines.

Some additional info: the decoration of this metro station designed by Tamás Komorócky, a Hungarian artist. The designers of the station, a group of young architects called Sporaarchitects, who won several international architecture awards, ordered the design with a good faith that the main contractor of the metro project will pay the costs that was a "rounding item" comparing to the budget of the project. The rather complex and ever-changing contract terms and conditions changed against them, and at the end, the worked for free. As far as my sources go, even Komorócky's expenses and royalties were unpaid. In a hope that this image may help them get acknowledgement and paying orders I feel it compulsory to thank them their work, ideas, and "sweat of the brow" in name of all who use, admire and benefit their works, too. Public of Budapest received a real piece of art both in fine arts and architecture. I think that the Daily Deviation this image received is another international acknowledgement of their effort, too.
