The Slangkop Lighthouse awakes as night arrives in a dramatic display of sunset colors
I shot this just over 3 years ago and it was the very first shoot I ever did with a full frame camera. Revolutionary times!

I have always loved lighthouse scenes. I actually thought this was a painting. It reminds me of Thomas Kinkade and how he paints light into his paintings. You did a beautiful job at capturing this moment in time.

South African picture, eh?
I like how the name Slangkop means Snake's Head in Dutch, yet it's from South Africa.
If I remember correctly, South African has some parts of Dutch in it, right?

It's derived from the coastal or harbour dutch, with a bit of english influence.

But I guess you mean the language is different, so itΒ΄s hard for me to understand it, right? Half the words are still the same as in dutch so I can make something of it, haha xD

This is a wonderful shot! The colour of the sky reflecting off the rock gives them a beautiful warm tone. The flow of water over the rocks is lovely. Just an over-all beautiful picture.
