Description 5 month old female lion cub, Coky, and her big brother, Donovan on a winter day at the zoo. She really seems to look up to her brother (sometimes literally).

Coky was born this past summer on June 5, 2012 and Donovan was born May 11, 2011.

Overall

Vision

Originality

Technique

Impact

The total atmosphere of this picture is warm and fuzzy even though in the picture it is snowing. I love how the lion cub is looking up and her brother just happens to be right behind her. The lion cub by the way is adorable. I give this picture a 4.5 because the vision is really nice but the now makes the tops of the male lions head a bit blurry. I give 4.5 stars for originality because even though I see a lot of lion pictures this one's pose is really original. I give 5 stars for technique. I give the impact 4.5 stars because it is a very good shot that gives you a warm and fuzzy feeling inside.

Thank you for the critique. It's my first actual critique so I really appreciate it. I agree with you completely, particularly about the top of the photo being a bit blurry. A piece of fence had crossed through that portion of the photo and try as I might, I couldn't get that portion to regain a focused look. I'm glad that you liked the photo overall though!

Welcome. I didn't know it was the fence, it didn't look like a fence, I just thought it was snow. You did very well on this so you should be proud of your self.

Thanks. Part of it is snow but the general blur was from a fence. I'm pretty good at editing the discoloration from the fences out but there isn't much you can do when the fence makes a certain area fuzzy looking. Glad that you like it!

Welcome. Well considering there was a fence in front of you and snow, you did a very good job on it.

I just adore Donovan and Coky.Β  Donovan has such a little-sister complex.Β  I sometimes feel bad that Murphy, lol.Β  In reality though, all three siblings seem very close and they always seem to stick close together. It's really endearing.

I can see why! These two are the cutest brother/sister combo I've seen in a long time! Sounds as though Murphy's a shy one, if he doesn't want to join his big brother and twin sister, sometimes! However, I am glad that the three find time to bond as a family!

Haha, I'm not sure if I'd call Murphy shy... more like he seems to be the sibling that gets picked on the most.Β  Coky tends to 'stalks' up on him while he is sleeping and whenever Murphy tries to lay with Donovan, he ends up Don's chew toy instead. Β  I have some photos of that as well so I'll try to get around to posting them! Their siblings dynamics are just a lot of fun.Β Β  ~

Poor Murphy!

However, for our set-upon lion cub, each day with the sibs is another day at the office! Check out the following four videos, for even more horse - er, lion-play!

The one where a new father meets his cubs for the very first time, is so very adorable! Such a gentle, patient dad! (Compare him to this more 'playful' wild lion dad -Β www.youtube.com/watch?v=p_wMrO… ! Still gentle, but certainly more adventurous, when it comes to meeting his progeny! )

That being said, I can just imagine the three lions' entertaining antics!

Haha, I'm glad that you like it! Baby lions are always so adorable but when they're with older siblings I think it's always just so much more fun!

Haha, well it was actually giving her a bath during this so she really was looking up at him (unlike the other one where he really was photo-bombing).
