Nikon D300 + Sigma 17-70mm HSM Macro (focal length used was something around 17 to 25mm).
Besides this nothing special, except for maybe a polarizer.

thanks, and since your brought it up, would you recommend the 17-70mm HSM macro for an everyday lens ?

yes it's my everyday lens which I have on the camera 90% of the time.
It's a lot bigger and more solid than the usual kit lens and having f2.8 on 17mm is a big plus. It's also nice to be able to get really close if you want to spontaneously do some macro shooting.
Only down side I found so far is that it produces quite some flares when looking directly into the sun (but that's normal for lenses in this price range I think).
Otherwise the build quality is really great and robust, it survived over 2 years of bumping into things and even running around for 8 hours in -15°C - and the occasional dropping of the lens into the snow didn't do any harm either

the kit lens doesnt produce sharp photos, and it has f3.5 only, and of course i cant use the wide angle everywhere
