Ooops, a picture without bondage ... what went wrong? Did I run out of ropes? All cuffs in the dishwasher (see Desperate Housewifes to understand that one)? No - I've just been on the fence about purchasing Light Dome PRO Iray for ages since it does what I do but it has scripts and automation behind it while I do all steps manually. When I saw it up for sale, I could not resist any longer. And it's a happy purchase as it really speeds up things compared to my manual workflow. The idea is generally to separate the light components - sun, sky, as many fillers as you need and as many rim lights as you need, combine them in Photoshop (or any other software that supports layers, like the Gimp). Since you have the individual lights as individual layers you can decide how much of each layer should go into the final image and you have an "instant feedback" - depending a bit on how powerful your PC is. Some weird thing going on? Just mask it in that layer or use a gradient tool for a softer mask-out. The image above was done with 4 layers - although, looking at the artifact on the back of her left leg, I could have done with another filler to erase that too dark spot where the one filler I used failed to cast enough light. Meh ... things to keep in mind for the actual image I am planning on that very bridge - it'll be more of the kinky kind, though. This took roughly an hour to create the individual layers and play with them in Photoshop. Compared to a "try and try again and try again" single image approach directly out of Iray where you cancel the render, re-adjust your lights, start again, cancel again, adjust again ... much, much faster.
