I think you need to consider your silhouette here. It's a big part of composition. That's why their positioning comes off as odd. Would the viewer be able to tell what's going on if both characters were filled with black?
They're well drawn and colored individually, but I think their positions need to be reworked.

I see you removed Juggertha from the image. I really think just a change to the composition would have served it better, perhaps spacing the two characters apart.

I didn't draw them separately, but for coloring, I put them on separate layers. Juggertha is incomplete and Corea was done so I put him up while I completed Juggy. What you suggested was impossible for how I completed it.

Seriously tho, since your light source is coming from the right, the little dude can cast a slight shadow on the big dude to create a sense of depth from him and the big dude .
