Yay! Cardcaptors! That anime's dub and my history with it are a bit convoluted. First its history; Cardcaptor Sakura was imported to the USA as Cardcaptors and the studio responsible for the dubbing (Nelvana) made some script changes to edit out the homosexuality (this was the late 90s, early 2000s) and Kids WB (who aired the show in the states) initially ignored most of the episodes that didn't feature Li to broaden the show's target demographic. In Canada, however, the full version ran (though to my memory, it didn't initially) on Teletoon. But a lot of episodes were aired out of order (again; initially), which might have had more to do with Teletoon than the dubbing. In fact I think Teletoon was responsible for making Nelvana dub all 70 episodes, as Nelvana had originally wanted to only create the edited down Kids WB version. At any rate I started watching it... I think mostly by chance. It was Li's debut episode when he was still a snotty shit. But when I first saw it I didn't know anything about its history, and as a Canadian I got the full version, so I didn't really understand what people were talking about when it got badmouthed. I'm not even sure I knew strictly what 'anime' was at the time, just liked the show. And I stopped watching it for a time, then watched it again, and then faded off because the reruns kept happening and it was annoying.
