Elegant - People Oriented - Easy to Handle - Gentle - Calm

Astraea is kind gentle and about as ladylike as a horse could possibly get. She has been calm and gentle since she was weaned under the Verband's care. She is a giver and has an genuine interest in humans around her. She is attentive and does pick up on body language when those around her are having a hard time. For this we find she takes on the emotions around her and would require someone with great resolve. We hope this doesn't create an unstable partner in the ring but with her sensitive nature the Verband can not garuntee is won't translate over into the ring.

Astraea pays no mind to her surrounding forces and is indifferent to other livestock, dogs and cats. She isn't a fan fo flies or bees and we recommend a mask or spray to keep her comfortable in spring/summer months. She has no requirements for a herd and does well in solo turnout but she does fit in within a herd and is not a pushy mare. Dominance is not an issue with her, which also makes her a prime candidate to accompany the more difficult boss mares.

Under saddle Astraea has 3 lovely gaits, with her walk being her strongest. It is long and smooth but can be collected and consistent. She has fantastic self carriage and should be easy to bring into work in her new home.
