Description “Give it up, jackass!” Neshae said as he and Dreyfus approached the sorcerer.

The figure looked down at them from on top of the hill he stood on.  Miles of forest surrounded the hill.  A full moon shone in the night sky, which was glittered with stars.

“I must admit,” he said, “I am impressed by how far you two have come.  Every obstacle I have thrown at you, you have managed to overcome.  But I know there is one thing you can’t handle.  Together you are strong, but against each other…”  He reached a hand toward them.  Neshae braced himself for a magical attack, but it was Dreyfus who ended up squirming.

Neshae drew his Fire Blade, ready to attack the sorcerer.  But then he heard Dreyfus growling.  It was a low, deep growl that could only be one of his forms.

Uh oh… Neshae thought.

A blast of magic knocked him off his feet and into the trees behind him.  “Have fun.” The sorcerer said and disappeared.

Neshae got to his feet as Dreyfus had fully changed to his Grolnashier form.  He had seen this form before quite a few times.  And usually Dreyfus could control what he was doing when in that form.  But Neshae had seen Dreyfus forced into that form before.  And when he did so, the only thing on the deer boy’s mind was hunger.

Neshae froze for a moment as Dreyfus looked his way, but only a moment.  He broke into a run just as Dreyfus pounced for him.  Then the chase began.

Neshae couldn’t take to the air this time, like he had been able to do every other time this had happened.  The trees wouldn’t allow wings the size of his any room.  All he could hope for was his vampire speed to save him.

Luck was not on his side this night, for not too far into the forest he tripped.  He had only a second to roll onto his back before Dreyfus was upon him.  Neshae desperately grabbed his head and shoulder to keep him back.

This can’t be happening… Neshae thought.  He had been pinned by predators before, but every time he had been able to fight.  No matter how badly his life depended on it, the vampire could not bring himself to harm his friend.

He cried out as one of Dreyfus’ claws raked across his wing.  The next few seconds seemed to go in slow motion.

Because of the pain in his wing, one of Neshae’s hands slipped from Dreyfus’ head.  The fang filled mouth immediately lowered to the vampire’s torso.

Oh @#$%! Neshae thought.  This is it… I’m really going to die…

There was a sound of bones crunching nearly drowned out by Neshae’s cry of agony as Dreyfus’ jaws ripped through his flesh.

Neshae’s nerves jerked, forcing him awake.  The werewolf on the TV screen howled as it searched for its next victim.

It was just a dream… Neshae thought in disbelief.  Stupid werewolf movie.

Neshae turned off the TV and left to hunt for something to eat.

Nah, actually Dreyfus would just bow down and enjoy a tasty--if not bloody--snack. I was disappointed by the ending. Why'd he have to wake up? >.<

Besides, I thought it was pretty funny that he'd fall asleep watching a werewolf movie and then have a dream where Dreyfus turns into one of his monster forms and attacks him.

Because I wasn't really killing off Neshae. I don't plan on killing him and certainly not like that.
