Description
Chapter 21Neshae crept through the halls in the dungeon-like cave. The connection he and Dreyfus had was coming in handy. He could almost sense where Dreyfus had been and where he was. But it had been fuzzy since he’d entered the dungeon. Neshae had felt panic at one point that he knew was not his own. Dreyfus was in trouble.
He sensed Dreyfus’s presence very strong when he came to one room. Ann and Hesaoh were searching with him, but searching other rooms. Though when he entered the room, Dreyfus was nowhere to be found. The room itself seemed to be made of skulls and objects cluttered in random places. Neshae sighed. He had thought he’d found him.
White arms covered in blood suddenly reached out of the walls and a few of them grabbed Neshae. He cried out in surprise and struggled to get free, but their strength outmatched his own. He reached for his sword, but the arms seemed to know he was armed and kept his hands from reaching it.
He heard footsteps in the hall. Ann and Hesaoh had heard his shout and were coming to help him.
From out of the ground emerged a zombie-like creature that looked similar to all the arms around the room. It slowly walked towards him.
“Another so soon.” It said. “And a vampire. Well then there is no need to say what I’m going to do. You’ve already experienced it.”
Neshae struggled even harder, but was not strong enough. The zombie was about to strike and devour him when Ann and Hesaoh burst into the room. Both Neshae and the zombie looked at them in surprise.
“Watch out for the” Neshae cried as Ann and Hesaoh were caught by the arms, “…arms.” Now all three were caught.
The zombie looked back at Neshae. “Now, where were we?”
Neshae desperately tried to get his sword. It didn’t matter how he got it. He HAD to get it. Somehow. If reaching didn’t work then some other way had to.
The sword handle vibrated slightly. Neshae looked at it and saw that an arm hadn’t touched it like he thought it had. He had found his way. Now he just needed to buy just enough time…
He smiled at the zombie with his best expression of insanity, looking almost like a psychotic serial killer in a movie. “HEY!”
The zombie hesitated, surprised and confused at the same time.
Neshae lifted the handle of his sword out of his belt. It floated by his head. The blade of flame came out, illuminating his face and throwing shadows across it, making him seem even more dangerous. “HERE’S NESHAE!” He shoved the sword through the zombie’s head.
The zombie cried out in pain and staggered back and the hands, distracted, loosened their grip enough to let Neshae go. He leapt away from the walls to avoid being captured again and grabbed his sword, pulling it out of the zombie’s face.
But the zombie wasn’t defeated yet. It was already dead, so could not be killed. The only way to stop it would be to keep it from moving. And to do that was to chop it up into little pieces. After a series of repeated slashes with his fire sword, this was accomplished.
A burst of energy escaped the pieces of the zombie, as if a million souls had been suddenly released from captivity. One soul, however, stopped and revealed itself to Neshae.
The vampire’s heart pounded and nausea exploded in his stomach as he realized who the ghost was. It was his best friend, Dreyfus.

BOO! *sigh* There go my two fox tails in place of one ghostly tail. And I thought my troubles were over after that shark experience. -_-
