Description
Chapter 16Hesaoh had seen from his hiding place. Ann had been placed under a spell. Rage sped through his veins so that he could hear his own pulse. He had to find a cure before Ann was forced to do something she didn’t want to.
He walked down the hall, determined to find Prince William. If anyone would know how to cure her he would. He knew about Thorn and the sword after all. The whole time he kept watch for any birds that might be patrolling the halls. Thorn walked next to him, occasionally glancing over his shoulder.
There was a sound of music coming from the ball room. There must have been a party going on. Luckily, there were no guards at the door Hesaoh and Thorn reached. Prince William danced with another bird while Ann danced with Dreyfus. Hesaoh was sickened at the sight.
When William was finally alone and on his way to get a drink, Hesaoh whispered, “Hey! Prince William.”
The peafowl looked in his direction in surprise, then, making sure nobody saw, left the ballroom to talk to the two Raymanians.
“I see you’ve found your friend.” Prince William said.
“Yeah. William, they have Ann under a spell! There has to be a cure. Do you know where—“
“I cannot tell you that, Hesaoh.” William said. “I would be arrested for treason.”
Hesaoh looked at the bird in shock for a moment, then his anger took over. He grabbed the bird by the neck and pinned him against the wall, summoning the blade in his fire sword. He wouldn’t really hurt Prince William, but he could make him sweat a little.
“I am NOT in the mood for this.” Hesaoh said. “Unless you want to end up like all those humans you birds keep on eating, I suggest you tell me where the cure is.”
William glared at Hesaoh and shot something through his mind. The Raymanian writhed in pain as white fire shot through every nerve in his body.
Don’t ever threaten me, Hesaoh. Prince William’s voice said in his head, I have abilities far greater than yours. If you wish to help Ann, then you’ll have to speak with the king.
The pain ceased. Hesaoh relaxed for a moment and Thorn stared in disbelief. “What did you do to him?” he asked.
“Nothing he won’t heal from.” William said. “Now if you’ll excuse me, I have a ball to attend.” He went back into the ballroom and continued dancing with the other bird.
“Come on.” Hesaoh said. “We have to find the king. Possibly even battle him. He was in on the spell and he’s gonna help us get it off whether he likes it or not.”
