Description Chapter 24

Hesaoh and Ann ran to their fallen friends.  “Thorn!” Hesaoh cried.

Thorn looked up at Hesaoh as he knelt by his side.  “Hesaoh…” he said weakly.  “The Rasphoenix is going to destroy everything unless you can defeat him.  I can stop him from entering the portal, but that’s all.  Go.”

Not sure what to say next, Hesaoh got up.  To the right, he saw the griffin coming closer.

“We’ll have to fight this guy first.” He said.

Thorn nodded.

Hesaoh summoned the fire in his sword and charged at the griffin.  It swung its tail at him and forced him to stop and duck, then exhaled a blast of fire at the Raymanian.

Hesaoh rolled to the side and sprang at the beast, only to get smacked by one of its talons.  He landed on the ground with a thud, but didn’t stay down for long.  He got to his feet and dove out of the way as another blast of fire came at him.

The rain intensified, through magic, it seemed.  It eventually got so hard nothing could be seen around Hesaoh.  Large drops hit him with great force.

When it finally cleared, smoke filled the air.  The fire had been put out around the forest, saving the last of it.  Hesaoh and the griffin glanced around, then charged at each other once again.

As Hesaoh leapt at the griffin, it caught him in midair like before, but didn’t smack him this time.

Before it could do anything else, Ann struck it with her forest sword, which had returned now that the forest was saved.  The griffin cried out and dropped Hesaoh, focusing its attention on her.

This gave Hesaoh the opportunity to get closer to the griffin.  With the battle cry of his clan, he thrust the Fire Blade into the beasts heart.  It gave a horrible cry of agony before collapsing to the ground dead.

Hesaoh pulled his sword out of the corpse’s chest.  He hesitated and glanced at Thorn and Marie, desperately hoping to not loose ANOTHER friend like this.

“I’ll watch them.” The king said.

“Thanks.” Hesaoh said and he and Ann chased off after the Rasphoenix.

The Rasphoenix flew towards the portal, awaiting the genocide that was about to begin.  He suddenly sensed magic in the air and a powerful wind blew him aside.  He fluttered in the air a second, surprised and confused, and another even more powerful gust sent him back towards the battle.

He turned around as he landed and saw Hesaoh and Ann running his way, the Raymanian wielding the Fire Blade and the human wielding the Forest Sword.  His vision went red as he prepared to take them out for good.
