a paper trail leading towards a better place
a better me
moments of inspiration spring from
the lowest of lows
to be a better me is the way to be
but it better be
tomorrow
so go ahead, scribble a notes and leave them
on tables turned at the bottom of the well
just so long as the changes i'll face take place
tomorrow

Yes, the laziness, and so much more (the trauma, the pain, expectation, mental disorders, legacies handed down from our parents' parents' parents) trap so many of us inside our own good intentions. I relate well to this also, but I wonder who, other than a sociopath, wouldn't.
It's a lovely representation of your own personal struggle with this common issue. And crap it may well be, in your eyes, because feeling that way is some of the lowest, self hating crap we pour on ourselves. Why wouldn't a poem about it be crap in one's own eye as well. It seems oddly poetic that it should happen that way.
