Download for full view, if you like!Oof, this one was a doozy! And for those who have missed them, say hello to Lakai and Tek in their (updated) Miles 7 duds. Give or take a few details.
This started as a remake of an older piece (I believe it is called "Miles 7" in my gallery--appropriately, it can be found in the Miles 7 folder in my gallery), and I had drawn it with that in mind, but when I started painting it, it sort of took off on its own. In terms of comparison, I think this palette works much better, just for STARTERS.
I'm not only proud of this piece because it turned out so well, but also because I pushed myself a bit more than usual. I ended up spending a lot of time getting the palette I wanted, putting details into the background and lighting, and adjusting the characters so that they fit the style of painting I'm aiming for. I've been looking at a lot of digital painters lately and I think I know what I want to strive for in terms of quality and style--I just have to keep working toward it.
I think this was a pretty good step. I hope you all enjoy it as much as I do.

This looks really good. I love the colored glass in the background and how it blends with the sky just as well as the contrast the darkness in the front does with the sky in the background

I love the chiaroscuro in this, and the fact that even in such extreme darkness you can still make out the details within the characters but not so much as to destroy the overall effect. The composition and the contrast between translucent and solid objects is just gorgeous.
