Entry for 's contest. I meant to have this up like 2 hours ago but my scanner was dumb. D: BUT I GOTS IT IN~ Sorry it's so late my dear.

The theme was "What do rainbows represent to you?"

My first thought was [after being colorful and awesome] sexuality.
And then I came up with the idea for it being like a card from a deck of playing...cards. So I went with it.

If you want to interpret it for yourself feel free, if not, here's a lengthy explanation:

The Blue side
This is the 'happy' side if you will, the bright side. Sexuality is something that can be pretty awesome. It can feel enlightening and a relief to finally know what your sexuality is. After going through the stormy seas of inner turmoil at deciding, the skies are bright and blue.
The girl is not supposed to represent anyone in particular, but more of a stereotype kind of thing. Blond hair and blue eyes show off innocence and beauty. The blond hair is healthy in the sense that it's clean, full, and shiny. The blue eye is full and shining, agani that sort of doe-eyed-innocence and or happiness. And or health.
The birds are suppose to show and give a sense of freedom. They aren't trapped and can fly.
The rose wraping around the box with the R is for life and love.
The clouds represent people who are there for you [friends, family, etc.].
The bracelets [those rainbow balls] hold a more personal meaning towards me because at my school the GSA makes rainbow bracelets. The GSA has been a huge part of my life, since I am deeply for the cause. I have been in it at my school almost my entire career, and it's a big thing for me. I look forward to it every week. It's nice. These also represent my friends, since no two bracelets are the same here [for the most part. And no two of my friends are the same either] and I met and or have many friends in the GSA.

The Gray Side
Sexuality, on the other hand, can be a very scary and intimidating thing. It can leave one alone and isolated, feeling like there is no one else there for them or like them.
The gray sky shows that things are not all good, and that there is still confusion and or unkowing. There's still that storm going on.
The rose on this box is dead and dying, it's petals falling and it wilting. Love and life lost.
The single cloud is showing that there are not many people there for them, because they either abandoned them because of their sexuality or they feel like there is no one to talk to about any of it.
The cracks and or...I'm not really sure what you would call them. Anyway, they show again how barren and alone one can feel. They overtake the sky and keep the person trapped.
The girl in this one is much different than her counter part. Her hair is dirty, flat, and has no shine. This shows unhealthyness and or depression. It's not full of energy and life the the others. Her eyes is smaller and is crying, showing sadness and or frustration.
The mask [yes that thing over her mouth and nose is a mask], is there to also represent the inability to speak out freely. Also, it's covering her mouth and nose, giving the sense of a smaller, more closed in space and things feeling claustrophobic.
Fear, the sense of being alone and not being able to talk to anyone, confusion, drama, the pain of losing friends and family, knowing you're disgusting in someones eyes....I was trying to convey something like that.

They were supposed to connect in the middle to represent an hour glass, showing time.
