Description
Ryu is a pretty basic character - Karate guy who wants to be the best. It's a simple concept, and it really worked back in the 90's, most fighting games that were clones had a character kind of like Ryu, be it from design or personality.

Later Capcom decided to expand his story with de Satsui no Hadou (which I believe was actually first introduced in the Alpha Manga), and even though that has kind of been milked to death (lolcapcpom), I do enjoy it.

As for the drawing, The pose went with was supposed to be a tribute to the Hadouken preparation scenes from the Street Fighter II Victory anime, which I do like a lot - Great Hadouken theme too, check it out! www.youtube.com/watch?v=4j9-Bf…
