Well, I've been playing pokemon White (and admittedly it's part of the reason why I've been so scarce around dA) and had to do some fan art.I've never liked very many bug pokemon before, but suddenly this generation had a ton of awesome ones! I have a scolipede and a larvesta on my team right now c:

I agree, bug pokemon have been taking a back seat-- but this generation has so many kick ass looking ones. I also have a Scoliopede on my team as well, best bug this generation, hands down!

Yeah seriously! And they also generally have such low stats after the beginning of the game, with a few exceptions, before this generation. I totally didn't know until this year that bug type was super effective against dark and psychic- it makes it really useful to have a bug pokemon around!

Agreed! I didn't know how great Bug Pokemon could be- and they're so much easier to train. Earlier generations had them evolve so early that it took longer for them to gain XP. Luck Egg ftw!

I do know that larvesta's evolution is apparently HUGE... like bigger than a person :0

I've been playing White a lot too XD I adore Larvesta! It just looks so soft and cuddly with its...BUG FUR. And I love the way you drew Scolipede! It's too cute!

Yeah, most of the bug types this gen are awesome. I hate spiders, but I love Galvantula SO MUCH. It's ridiculous.

I honestly dislike just about all of the bug pokemon. I'm not even that big of a fan for the electric spider. Scyther is pretty cool, but I'd never have it in my party or anything.. the only bug pokemon I have ever liked, and have ever had in my party was Mothim. I dunno, bug pokemon just aren't my cup of tea I guess :/ But I still love the way you drew them here! XD

Yeah, I've never been a fan of bug pokemon either, favorite has always been Scyther and Scizor, and Ariados if I feel like it, but this gen...holy cow. Not much for the bottom left one or Joltik (Makes me think of an electric Spinarak) but Mothra (Volcarona) is a great concept and I'm just obsessed with Scolipede. I took it with me all the way, I solo-ed the wind gym with him, as well as two of the Elite Four. He gets less pwnsome near the end of the game, but he serves his purpose. His speed is still the greatest out of all my pokemon, including legendaries, and his attack is nothing to scoff at either.
I never thought I'd like a 5th gen pokemon so much, but there ya go.

I haven't said my team because I'm not sure if it'll be staying the same! For some reason in this game I keep loving everything and being indecisive about which pokemon I want on my team... agh ;___;

Aaaaaagh, yesyesyes, I love Scolipede so much, and I want one on my team, but it's a bug/poison type and can be creamed by like everything. :C And Galvantula has low stats and kept fainting and costing me battles, adorable as it is. I think I might end up with Volcarona on my team though, hah.

I actually haven't had much trouble with mine though. My scolipede seems to have decent enough stats that even when a super-effective attack hits him, it doesn't do too much.
Man, it really does seem like so many of the pokemon in this generation have low defense and are too easy to faint. I keep changing the members of my team because of that problem D:
I can't wait till my larvesta evolves! But man, it sure is a lot of work getting her up to lv 59.. it seems so far away, she's still only on level 40 right now. :c

I've always felt sorry for bug pokemon. They just have way too many weaknesses, and other than Scyther back in the Red/Blue days they've all been kinda fugly. I'm thinking I might have to raise up a Joltik though, their evolved forms are so fluffy and huggable!

Volcaronas are badass. Hands down.
I think prior to Gen V the few badass bugs were limited to fully evolved high attack threatening things like Yanmega or Scizor.

I have on my team currently: Sawsbuck I named him Orin, Samuott (final form of oshwott?) I named him Triton, a Lampet that I called Flick, my Zebrastrika that I named Flash, and my Unfezant Gusty. I had Triton, Gusty, Flash and Orin from the moment I got them so they are my favorites XD

HAHAH that is awesome! I thought Triton would be fitting considering when he evolves he is a bad-ass water thing with a white bushy mustache XD. Oh will you draw them in all forms?
I forgot that I have a Beartic that I named Glacie on my team XD forgot about her. But yeah Gusty, Trion, Orin and Flash are the bad-asses on my team XD. Gusty poned the strongest pokemon the last gym leader had in two hits.

How far are you in the game now? I am on Victory Road. I are nerdy XD I actually do not keep any bug pokemon. I am thinking once I get through the Elite 4 then I am going to take out my other pokemon that I wanted to use but couldn't then get them leveled up and evolved.
