This Cord measures 9' (feet) from knot to knot, with 9" (inch) extensions of each ribbon at one end. It is made of 7 different satin ribbons, all hand weaved to proper length.

The Spice Rack Cord is comprised of the following colors:

What is a Handfasting?

The concept of a Hand Fasting originated with the ancient Celtic culture generally thought to be a Cornish or Scottish engagement ceremony binding for a year and a day. The term "tie the knot", which is still used today, originates with the practice of Hand Fasting. During the ceremony, the couple's hands are tied together with one or several colored cords symbolizing their union. Today, Hand Fastings are performed as part of all types of unions, and are a wonderful way to make tangible the bond you and your partner are creating.
