This is my dog Lunta... I've posted a photo of her before, (see sleeping dogs lie).I'm posting this in dedication to her. This weekend past, Lunta had a stroke... She's getting older
12 1/2 years now. She's already lived longer than her breed is supposed to.
I got Lunta when I was on a bomb course in Ottawa... Since that time, she has been my partner, and my friend...
She's travelled thousands of miles next to me in my cruiser or in my own vehicle..
She's saved my life a couple of times..
I know that soon, she will go to sleep and not wake up... The knowing does not make it easier.
She has always been there for me.. and now, I at least have an opportunity to be there for her. To make what is left of her life easier.
Lunta has been loved by the young and elderly on her visits to the hospitals and retirement homes. She has welcomed and protected cats, a ground hog, 7 mallard ducklings, an injured warbler and my horses.
Lunta is a Kuvasz. And she is my friend.

Our dog used to do the Nursing Home visits. She loved them. Last year we had to put her to sleep. It was so sad. I understand where you're coming from. They'll always be missed and loved... Sorry to hear about your dear friend. She will be missed dearly.

She sounds like a lovely friend to have. It is always hard when one we love is about to leave us, but you have to remember the good days.

She sounds like a very loyal friend, more than just any household pet. I've never actually had a pet longer than a few years, so I cannot say I know how you feel. But I can say that its best to treasure all the memories you have with her.

Don't be sad....think about the present....I also have a dog that is 14years old, but am never sad...she is still happy and running around...waking me up whenever she gets bored....and one day...atleast we'll have memories....of good friends...
