EDIT 8/1/2019: Is this even the same story anymore lmao

Sweet holy mother of grains and wheat, it's been about two freakin' weeks and I'm still not prepared for this.
Heaven help me.

Hello World!

It's been a while, I know, but if all the stars align within the next few days, then I might have one or a few more pictures coming... someday. ( ; ・ω・) (I literally have no idea)
But anyways, let's get straight to the point!

So I've actually had this picture for a while, now. As in, I really wanted to upload it sooner, buuut you know me. I just need to explain everything I create IN WAY TOO MUCH FRICKIN DETAIL.
For the past week or so, or more (who even knows), I've been attempting to write a description for this picture, and I've finally succeeded! I think.
That's just the thing... I don't know how good any of this actually is.

I mean, I don't think it's terrible, but little-perfectionist-me may not be as satisfied as she wants to be.
Heaven help me if there's spelling/grammatical errors in this. ( '°-°)

So let's get on with things!

Alright, I know I already gave a plot synopsis for my story in the description of "I'm still running out of titles", but we can't ignore the problems with it, can we?

I mean, I know this picture won't get much attention, but I still feel that it's a better picture to "represent" the story than that other mess of art. XD

Regardless; I guess this could be considered "concept art", as most of what you see in this picture has very little presence in the actual plot, other than a few possible mentions. (  ; ᵕ ; )
Just a warning, though, if you don't want to go through the trouble of reading through a whole bunch of pointless lore 'n' stuff, then you have all the right to turn back, because you are about to intercept with a MASSIVE wall of text, even by my standards. I will provide a much simpler explanation as to who these groups are, but you have been warned. ( ; ・ω・)

Okay! Looks like we're doing this...

So, just to recap, lemme give you a "quick", dramatic synopsis. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

"Reality's Deception", is a blend of science-fiction, fantasy, with little bits of horror. The story is set in alternate reality, where the things that lie far beyond the observable universe, are as equally far from our expectations. The story itself does make plenty of references to the concepts in this picture, nevertheless, the following text is about the world(s) it's based in.

So this particular part of the story revolves around the things we never see (quite literally), which is ironically, probably the greatest threat to the entire multiverse; The Universal War, forever waging in the background, or even right in front of us. Spoopy. (*° ᵕ °*)

Spanning over several universes at a time, the war is directed by two, main opposing forces, almost equal in knowledge and power. These two species have spent countless millenniums fighting for the very fate of reality, on whether the supposedly damaged multiverse should continue on, or start over. But these two species do not work alone, having either "recruited", or even created other species to fight for them. Though in the end, they did not need much more than two, for each.

______________________________

So, in a nutshell, this picture doesn't really revolve around the specific species I mentioned, but more so the "groups" they belong to (as seen in the picture), otherwise there would be one or two more "representations" in the picture.

So, for the person who's like me (and likely the majority), here is the simplified explanation of who these groups are.

The Synthesis: The "leaders", so to speak. They are the assemblers of The Zenaguard, and The Opposition, and the original enemy of The Spectrum.
The Zenaguard: The protectors of our Universe, and several others.
The Opposition: The fearless fighters who fight the antagonists in their very own home.
The Spectrum: The antagonists, possessing a great hatred for The Synthesis because of past events, and the ones fighting to "save" the Universe, by destroying it prematurely.

And now we get to the walls of text. If you aren't interested in the finer details, you may move on. \(*・ω・)

______________________________

The Synthesis: The Synthesis is comprised of an ancient species believed to be older than the very species they work with and oppose. Although this can't be known for certain, they have been around for a long time. They are so advanced that their very minds are believed to be connected to each other. The Sprites are indeed telepathic--to an extent--and they are very powerful. The Sprites themselves live in Nirulla (though they didn't initially), a cosmological wonder that is home to yet another ancient species, and a true anomaly of nature, "The Nursery". While The Synthesis is not dedicated to fighting, it is divided into four different "branches", one of which does revolve around fighting.

They are divided into the following:

The Salynic Branch, which is based around diplomacy, and managing the other three branches of The Synthesis. They usually speak for the group as a whole, and are considered to be the "leaders" of the Synthesis. They are also the ones who manage "The Protection Forces", and along with The Komettic Branch, they are also the ones who founded them.

The Komettic Branch, which is based around combat, and protection. They protect Nirulla, and their specific universe (which they refer to as a “Zenaverse”). They are basically the Sprite's version of the military, and worked with the Salynic Branch to establish The Protection Forces.

The Prmada Branch, which is based around research, and technology. They are probably the most extensive branch in terms of overall "size", focusing on a number of things such as knowledge, gathering resources, many, many other fields, and even general construction. But they are undoubtedly most well known for the "Prmada", and it's descendant, the "Jelapelet", devices (or constructs, in the Jelapelet’s case) so powerful that they are capable of tearing the very fabric of space, causing a separate tear in any other region imaginable, and causing the space in-between to separate in a manner that forms a link between the two regions, and given the proper stability from the devices themselves.

The Alas Branch, who serve as the keepers, protectors, and overseers of Lei Alas, a massive moon-sized construction with a great computer at the center, providing the Sprites with a steady source of energy, knowledge, and possibly, a potential weapon. However, Lei Alas is commonly mistaken to be, or even presented, as an "afterlife", due to the Soul Spheres it is powered by, and the strange effect it has on the soul inside.

______________________________

So, before I say any more... I would first like to mention that The Protection Forces, while *technically* a part of The Synthesis, they are not related to the Komettic Branch. The Zenaguard and The Opposition were both assembled by, and work for The Synthesis, but they are commonly seen as two different groups.

So now we are left with The Spectrum.

Are The Spectrum the "bad guys"? It depends. From the viewpoint of the characters in the story, they are definitely the antagonists. But why is that? Are they just "evil", or are they more complex? (눈‿눈)

The war exists for a reason (as do these walls of text. Please forgive me), and The Spectrum (more accurately, the Specters) are definitely part of the reason.

The Specters believed in the idea that The Universe's laws were, "absolute", so to speak. They could not be broken under any circumstance. At least, that was the way it was supposed to be. The species became well aware of the very things that--quite literally--defied the Universe itself, yet somehow occurred anyway. The Specters did everything they could to try and find an explanation, but eventually settled on the simple fact that there was no explanation, and that the Universe was somehow, born defective.

The only way of solving such a problem, would be to create a "new" universe altogether, which unfortunately depended on the destruction of the one before it. Even with this in mind, the Specters didn't see the situation as hopeless, and simply decided the best thing to do was to avoid any sort of "bugs" in The Universe's system.

But then they discovered an entire other species, as powerful--if not more so--than themselves, abusing the very fabric of space through "Dimensional Tears". Well… Needless to say, the Specters were outraged, and demanded that the other species immediately cease their dangerous methods of transportation. But, The Sprites inevitably refused.

And thanks to them, now we have a catastrophic war ruining everyone’s day. (メ ・`ᵕ´・)

Interestingly enough; Even though the Specters remain to be the lead threat, they were technically defeated, for a short while, a long time ago. But while the Sprites slowly built themselves back up from the damage that had been done, the Specters weren't quite ready to “forget” about the damage that had been done to themselves.

______________________________

The Spectrum: While their exact "age" is unknown, the lead species of the Spectrum have been around for a very long time. Unlike the other three groups, The Spectrum actually consists of *three* species; Specters, Shades, and Essenetic Kelinals. The Specters, however, are in complete control, whereas the Shades could be considered the counterparts to The Zenaguard, while the Essenetic Kelinals bear intresting similarites to The Opposition. The Spectrum itself is based in Sayadah, yet another wonder of The Universe, often considered as the counterpart to Nirulla, with an equally strange center, referred to as "Zena's Heart".

Similar to The Synthesis, The Spectrum is also divided into several different "groups", although The Spectrum is a bit more divided based on the things they do and their species. They are divided into the following:

The Heart Division, or simply, "The Heart", which is often confused by many species to be in reference to "Zena's Heart". But "The Heart" is in fact referring to "The Heart of The Spectrum", which, to add to the confusion, is based near Zena's Heart. Nonetheless; The Heart of the Spectrum effectively mirrors The Salynic Branch of The Synthesis, in the sense that they speak for and manage The Spectrum as a whole, and are believed to be comprised of some of the oldest Specters in existence, with a deep hatred for The Synthesis in particular.

The Sentinel Division, which is simply The Spectrum's "Komettic Branch". The Sentinel Division protects their Zenaverse, and will protect their assigned region with their life. Strangely, though, only a handful are actually stationed in Sayadah. Nevertheless, the region is still protected by something else.

The Planetary Division, which is comprised of strange, infuriated beings native to Sayadah; Cryslans, or as they are most commonly called, "Shades". While the consequences of their missions may seem dire, The Division is thought by some to be nothing more than some sort of "diversion" to keep The Zenaguard occupied. While The Division themselves can be challenging in battle (due to the sheer numbers they're released in), their main "purpose" is to travel to various solar systems and create "walking doomsday machines", so to speak, referred to as "Wraiths". Wraiths are indeed powerful on their own, but that's not why they're feared to the extent they are. They are quick, quick-witted, and can basically destroy an entire planet.

Then we have The Kelinalic Division, which is comprised of a very strange species of "Kelinals" (Essenetic Kelinals, to be precise), who were actually *created* by The Spectrum, and serve both as infiltrators, and expendable fighters.

______________________________

So after all of that text, we finally get to the only group that even appears in the story; The group that most of the major characters actually belong to.

______________________________

The Zenaguard: The Zenaguard come close to being one of the most well-known groups in... well, a lot of places. They are comprised of yet another ancient species, and they are in fact native to Nirulla. Strange beings known as "Fanntoms", oddly reminiscent of "plant-life" in many respects, despite being much more complex forms of life. While the Komettic Branch of The Synthesis generally protect Nirulla, The Zenaguard cover much more ground. As their name suggests, they are the guardians of multiple Zenaverses at a time, and are likely well-known because of that. A Zenaverse is simply what Humans would call a Universe, as the multiverse is typically called The Universe.

The Zenaguard don't, however, protect their own Zenaverse, strangely enough. That is taken care of by The Synthesis, who reside in the same one. Nonetheless, The Zenaguard’s actual job relates to keeping The Planetary Division, and more importantly, The Spectrum, contained to their own Zenaverse. But, as always, The Zenaguard are divided into two, main branches.

Guardian Teams, which are arguably one of the most well-known groups out of everyone on this list. They are typically comprised of only four to five Fanntoms at a time, which may seem small, until you take into consideration that most galaxies in the entire Zenaverses they protect, are protected by roughly four Guardian Teams at a time. Their job is to keep the galaxies clean of anything affiliated with The Spectrum, though the culprits are usually Shades, who, individually speaking, are actually rather weak, in comparison to the Fanntoms. But when they invade, they invade in numbers. Large numbers.

Carrier Teams, which, honestly are more necessary to Lei Alas than anything else. Their main purpose is to "carry over the souls" of the deceased from a large number of different civilizations, to the team's own special "residence" where the ghosts are usually "stored away" so to speak, until they have enough room in their home to house another Spirit. The ghosts are then taken to Lei Alas, where they are given a Soul Sphere, and are taken back to the Carrier Team's residence to stay for about a week, which is the time needed for the Spirit's soul to properly bond to their new body. They are then taken to Lei Alas, where their Soul Sphere is connected to the great computer indefinitely.

And finally...

We have Research Teams, which are technically considered to be a part of The Zenaguard, though there are many who don't recognize them as such. Research Teams are exactly what they sound like, focusing on research, collecting resources, engineering, programming, and technology in general. But even if the teams are left more "in the dark", they have not gone unheard of, as they were technically the original manufacturers of Opausli; Advanced, intelligent, and completely sentient androids, making for excellent fighters, with the efficiency to do just about anything, if they have the knowledge.

______________________________

But you know what's amusing? When I started writing these descriptions, I figured they would be in no particular order. But I unintentionally just put every group in (roughly) the chronological order they came to be.

______________________________

The Opposition: So, since we are apparently going in chronological order, then as you would expect, The Opposition are the "newest" group, yet they are potentially, the most important one. The Opposition do assume duties similar to the Zenaguard, in the sense that a certain branch of The Opposition "guard" the Zenaverse home to The Spectrum, from The Spectrum themselves. But The Opposition's original purpose is far, more dangerous. Because of such a highly stressful and risky occupation, the group was actually comprised of Opausli, in the beginning.

They represented the Opposition for a very long time before The Spectrum finally discovered a way to deal with the resilient machines, by creating organic machines capable of attacking, and transmitting very dangerous “viruses”, that would disrupt the Opausli until they were a hazard, or could no longer function.

And so, as of more modern times, The Opposition is actually comprised of Kelinals, though they are not Essenetic (which, by the way, simply refers to a being with an “Essence”) like the ones affiliated with The Spectrum. The ones of the Opposition are usually “Soulic” (referring to a being with a Soul).

The Opposition’s main purpose is to prevent The Spectrum from growing too powerful, and learning whatever they can about their “methods”, through infiltration, sabotage, and even full-blown attacks. Though the “attacks” will usually result in the death of whatever Kelinals were involved, it will not necessarily result in a failure, should they manage to destroy, or limit access to something The Spectrum deemed important.

The Opposition is divided into the following divisions:

The Sentry Squadron: The Sentry Squadron are basically The Zenaguard, but with Kelinals. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ The Zenaverse they protect is, admittedly, at a higher danger-level due to it being the home of The Spectrum, but their job is still to protect the other species from The Planetary Division, though they are usually opposed against The Sentinel Division, who “protect” the very same Zenaverse.

The Infiltration: The Infiltration’s job is right in their name, and as you would expect, they have a much more challenging job than The Sentry Squadron. Though death is not absolute, getting caught is a very likely scenario, and so these Kelinals are prepared both for mastering stealth, and potentially failing. The Infiltration are the ones who attempt to sneak under The Spectrum’s nose, and learn whatever they can about their methods of operation, and any sort of major “projects”. Should they be given the chance, they may attempt to sabotage whatever they deem a threat. They are not, however, the ones who typically carry this out.

The Legionary: Unlike every other group on this list, there is one thing that sets The Legionary apart. The Legionary are the ones who go to Sayadah and fight The Spectrum in their own home, causing the risk of death to be almost 100%. When The Infiltration need potential assistance, or discover something that needs to be destroyed, they basically throw The Legionary at the source until it’s destroyed. While some Kelinals actually survive for one or two battles, it isn’t as common the next time.

Okay... Now if you just read through all of THAT, then I don't know if I should feel impossibly flattered, or scared, because you are not human!

But in all seriousness, I apologize yet again for cramming so much stupid into one description.

If you truly made it this far, you have my deepest appreciation!
You win a loaf of bread!

Catch ya later! (´。• ᵕ •。`)
