Description
So, I decided to make a little tutorial to show you how do I work.It is a little condensed, maybe I need to go deeper in some explanations, but this should work.
Sorry if my english is not good at all.

HOLY shit. You do it the "hard way" after all XD ~! I used this technique in just one (or two) of my pieces and realised "Gee... there SHOULD be a better way". SAI Paint Tool seems to have a nice pen tool where you can 'inflate' the pen stroke -- but the mechanics are just CRAP and nothing as easy/robust as Illustrator's vector control.
You can get quicker effects using the brush tool in Illustrator, and then use EXPAND to expand the stroke and turn it into a vector outline, then you can edit the outline. I have yet to use this in PRACTICE, but in theory it should be faster than the technique you used, especially if you can manage to create just the right sort of brush.
SAI is nice in that it ~seems~ to combine vectors with bitmap colouring... but... still not in a very practical (shit, FAR from practical based on my fiddling) way.

Larga vida a Freehand!
