Finally I could do some nicer photos on a jumping spider. This one's quite small though.Related content

Omg this is the cutest pic ever! xD
Jumping spiders are one of my faves (along with the wolf spider and diving bell spider <3)!

Haha, thank you c:
And yeah, the jumping and wolf one's are probably most people's favorites (well, for the people that aren't scared of spiders at least : D). I think the diving bell spider isn't that known though. It looks like a typical spider, but what it does is pretty amazing.

Is it hard to get shots like this?

As it's not the first shot of this kind I've taken- not really. But I guess it does require some practice. Depends on how calm your subject is xD I use reversed lenses instead of normal macro lenses, so that might seem pretty difficult as you have manual aperture and no autofocus. Plus, I don't even have the thing that attaches my the lenses that way to the camera, so I have to rely on my hands to hold it all together when taking a picture. Oh and in macro, you have a really thin line of focus, so steady hands are useful too.

I've got a serious case of Arachnaphobia... though this spider looks irresistebly and inevitably cute ;] !

Then it's not that serious at all! Shame on you for betraying the arachnophobs! xD

Hah, maybe it's indeed not that serious xD Though spiders seem less scary to me up close like in the photograph, than when they are crawling around : P

Well surely it's easier to face your fears through a computer screen than in real life

Cutest picture ever. I'm terrified of spiders but when you see them this way they look adorable!
Do you use a macrolense or just filters?

Neither really, I just reverse the standart lens and they become somewhat macro.

Oh awesome! How do you do that really? My camera doesn't allow that, do you use a special ring or so?

I just detach the lens and hold it the other way against the camera. I wish I had the adapter that actually let's you attach the lens that way, would make things a lot easier haha

I tried your method but it doesn't work for me.. Meh haha
I'm also a bit scared of dust on my sensor..

It should work, I dunno. Besides, you have to have a good lightning that way. I made a flash diffuser, since the lens covers the light from the flash. It works well for me.
Also, I now have too many dust on my sensor to even care anymore : D Haven't been too careful since this is my first camera. I remove them in photoshop anyway.

I made a homemade flash diffuser too, but the thing is that it's one big blur, no matter how close or how i focus.. I'll just buy a macrolense sometime soon!
You can get your sensor cleaned, though! It's a bad idea to do it yourself if you don't know what you're doing but if it bothers you...

Well maybe it's just the lens or something. I don't know. It works for me, so for now I don't really need real macro lenses.
I tried to clean it with a thing I bought, but it didn't help much. For now, I'd just rather deal with that in photoshop, than spend money or effort to clean it. I'll be more careful with the next camera if I get one ^^
