The deviantART community is full of talented artists and art appreciators willing to pay for custom artwork. Today, we’re excited to announce that we’re launching Commissions on deviantART to all Beta Testers, a feature that connects artists with clients, creating custom artwork in exchange for real earnings.
Commissions is a Profile Page widget that allows artists to market their talents by advertising what they are available to create. Potential clients can easily send artists a Commission request, which an artist can either accept or reject.
Profits made through the Commissions widget can be withdrawn as real earnings -- through check, PayPal, or converted to deviantART Points.
Generate Real Earnings Through Custom Creations
1. List Commission availability on your profile
The Commissions Widget showcases your offerings, showing potential clients that you are accepting requests. These commission prices are based on deviantART Points , are set in increments of 10, and can range from 10 to 4000 Points.
2. Clients request Commissions
Commission requests are sent to the artist’s Message Center, allowing them accept or reject the request.
3. You receive payment, you deliver artwork
Artists can track their Commission transactions and generate real profit through My Earnings , garnering 80% royalty on each transaction. Earnings can then be withdrawn as a check, PayPal, or converted to deviantART Points.
Try it out!
All Beta Testers can now install the Commissions widget on their page, so give it a try by heading to your Profile ! Installed Commissions widgets are visible to everyone on deviantART, so you can offer your own commissions, and you can request commissions from your fellow artists as well!
Please note: Currently, the Commissions widget can only be installed by Beta Testers, but everyone has the ability to request a Commission from Beta Testers during this testing period.
If you encounter any bugs or issues, please file them in the #devBUG Issue Tracker under the Commissions project.

I'm trying yo wiyhdrawy my earnings and every time I do it gives the message:
"Please enter a verified Paypal email address."
Well, my Paypal email is verified. I also have a credit card connected to it and my bank account, however my bank account hasn't been verified yet. Could that be the problem?

Hi there! When deviants make purchases through the Commissions widget, your earnings show up on the Earnings page . There is a 14 day clearance period before you can withdraw your earnings, however.

Yes; you may withdraw any commission profits through cheque or paypal.

gyazo.com/c026af10dc78f13791d9…
Two restrictions:
PayPal withdrawals require a minimum of $5.00 in your available balance. You can withdraw after increasing your balance.
You may not withdraw your points; ONLY anything you've made through the use of the commissions widget; this is so people cannot withdraw things like point donations into currency.

How long do you have to complete the commissioners request?
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
FrogPointPrince In reply to Anti-Moniter [2013-08-15 11:01:11 +0000 UTC]
There is no time limit on it; that's at the discretion of both the commissioner and commissionee; terms should be worked out before or placed within your commissions widget description box to protect both parties.
A reasonable time period without designation I would personally say to be a Month; but people may complain to dA etc about it.

I was wondering if there was any way to change prices or get rid of current commissions on the list?

ikazon In reply to slyth3rin [2013-07-16 20:49:05 +0000 UTC]
You can edit the widget, and then click the pencil button next to the individual commission you want to change the price of. To delete a commission, edit the widget itself, and then click the red x next to the commission you want to delete.

You MUST accept points through the commission widget for it to be withdrawn as real life currency.

When editing your Profile, the Commissions widget can be found in the Misc section, or you can click "Show All" in the "Widgets You Can Add" section, and it will be the last one on the list. From there, you can add the widget to any zone of your Profile. Hope that helps!

i did message the helpdesk for a bug problem but no one has contacted me back, I'll most likely get an answer from you however, I noticed that in the last two days that the commissions widget doesn't show how much iv'e sold any more any reasons why?
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
ikazon In reply to Rhyn-Art [2013-06-21 23:01:26 +0000 UTC]
That was deliberately removed because it was unclear. If you edited the Commission, the number would reset to 0 by default, even if you'd already sold that particular commission multiple times, so it was removed so that it didn't look as though any sales were negated.

You can look at the Earnings page to see what profit you've made, which will tell you when you've sold a commission. We're looking into ways to present stats on your sales, but those are not currently available.
