They appear cute when they are on the squirrel feeder however when they are constantly swinging around on the bird nut feeders they become a huge annoyance.
A week ago I finally thought I outsmarted it and its gang of 4 other squirrels by throwing a rope with a rock upwards and hooking it onto a branch high above in the garden. I then hung the feeder vertically downards; never would I have imagined that in the next few minutes the squirrel would comfortably slide down 5metres onto the feeder along the rope and eat the nuts whilst twirling around like on a roller coaster ride. After it had finished stealing the expensive nuts it very easily climbed up the rope and left.
