Description
FINALLY getting her profile up! XPShe was the first one to show up eagerly and I haven't actually listened until she's the last one... -w-'''' I feel bad. X.x
But oh well! She still seems willing to talk~ :3
*~*~*
Name: Hazor (HAH-zor)
Age: 23 (adult); 8 (kid)
Lives: Mainly in a small beach house on a beach by a sea with Koros and Zanech.(though she's often roaming around if they're on land...) Not sure where, exactly. And she doesn't always stay there much; goes out searching for treasure quite often with Koros and Zanech and lives on a boat.
Career: Thief (Path of Strength)
Family: Unknown (well, obvious that she has parents, but don't know about any siblings or the status of any of them)
Status: Single
Weapon of choice: A slightly modified pair of tonfa ( [link] ), and a lock-picking kit she carries everywhere~
Element: none unless you count quickness of thought
Cohorts: Koros(CORR-ohs), and Zanech (ZAH-neck)
Weakness: A challenging/impossible puzzle (including break-ins), a random brawl/free-for-all, coconut cream pie (it’s smashable and delicious!), handling power tools
Fears: Arachnophobic (not just spiders; scorpions too), solitude with nothing to occupy herself(like no computer or lock combinations or something to work on)
Anything else/Random facts:
- She has a Norwegian accent and knows the language.
- She wants to go skydiving at some point.
Since Umbra is an entirely different planet/realm/place (XD specific, eh?), I've no idea what the different regions would be called... so I'm going to use earth references for ethnicity. :3
She's of Nordic ethnicity~ Also, I'm not sure about the languages on Umbra, if there’s even more than one, so I don’t know exactly how often she uses it now. (but she still remembers)
Let’s see… How about starting with her background?
Her mother was/is a Wanderer, and her father’s an accountant.
Hazor was born on Umbra, but her mother being an avid Wanderer, they didn’t really stay a long time. After a while traveling around, her father thought it would be better for Hazor if they stayed in one place. Unfortunately, her parents didn’t exactly see eye to eye and after he suggested it one too many times, she left Hazor and her father on the last planet/dimension that they’d happened to travel to; Earth.
Left in Norway with no way back home, her father had to learn a new language (no longer being aided by Wanderer magic and having not picked up any devices beforehand) and get a job. However, working with numbers being a basically universal job, he got along easier than he expected. Hazor was very young and picked up on the new language quickly, and enjoyed a fairly normal Earth life.
Her mother popped in every once in a great while, to check on Hazor, though she didn’t usually stay a long time. As Hazor puts it, “She wasn’t around much.” Short and simple.
When she was about 8, Hazor’s mom showed up again and offered to go back with them to Umbra to get a proper divorce. Her father was pleased with the offer (as she’d refused to even just take them back previous times), and moved himself and Hazor back to Umbra.
After the divorce, her mom still visited occasionally, but was still ‘not around much’. Hazor didn’t mind, though. She’d found ways to occupy herself, even since on Earth. As her dad was an accountant, he wanted Hazor to have a good mind on her shoulders (namely to take up after him, in his mind), so he quizzed and tested her daily with numbers. However, she enjoyed it, and worked up to even helping him with work occasionally. Puzzles and numbers gave her something to do, and it was fun for her.
She didn’t always spend her time thinking, though. She also loved to wrestle and just have it out in a random fight. Her father didn’t approve of such ‘ primeval pleasures ’, but she did it anyway.
She soon found that she could blend her two hobbies into one; both physical and intellectual stimulants were quite plentiful in executing break-ins, and she got the thrill of anticipation as well. She started before they’d even left Earth (without telling her dad), and became quite good at it over time. It was fairly easy to avoid telling him, on Earth and on Umbra. He hardly ever talked to her about her personal life, or at least what she wanted. He helped her do things he thought she should do and told her what he wanted done during the day or week. If she didn’t prompt him, he wouldn’t ask about what she’d done on her own time. He didn’t always particularly like what he heard when she told him, too, so he never pried on his own.
Later, once again her father disapproved of the turn she chose in her life when she told him the career she wanted to pursue on Umbra; a thief. He thought it was below her, that with her mind she should go out and do better in life for herself. Finding that she would not listen to his promptings and ‘fix’ her life, he refused to help her funding or housing any longer; she’d have to fend for herself from now on. But she continued on, despite her lack of support.
She had always had a good memory for schematics and maps, and numbers of course, so treasure-hunting became a forte of her thievery base. She did lots of research, and enjoyed planning (and performing) break-ins. She became more masterful of a weapon that she had played with somewhat earlier, called a tonfa. Somewhat like police sticks, they worked effectively as blockers and as blunt weapons. Eventually she came to carry her own pair of tonfa, modified a bit so that they had a button that could either extend or shorten them, so she could both fit them in her carrier bag that she carried with her everywhere and surprise enemies with.
Even though her craft focused at least slightly on secrecy and obscurity, she was very social and open. She didn’t mind sharing plans and ideas, names or goals. Even personal info she was fairly unguarded with. Thankfully most of her classmates didn’t ever ask her about such things, and she was happy to do what she wanted. However, a few ‘bad’ experiences with a few people in and out of college taught her that she shouldn’t be so easily trusting of information, and became more guarded about who she told what.
After graduating early, she set off in search of more treasure. She soon discovered that thieves weren’t always welcome, no matter their personality or motivation, and couldn’t seem to find many friends willing to house her. Thievery could have a good pay, true, but sometimes jobs were scarce and just doing a robbery for fun didn’t get her any money. (though sometimes she could get a good ransom)
Through a chance meeting and persistence, Hazor met Koros, essentially followed him home, and stayed. Koros was annoyed with her at first, as Zanech was occasionally, but they came to appreciate the expertise she had to offer in the field of where treasure was, and how to get around detection if it was guarded. (Despite her young age, she’s very good at her craft) Zanech, usually, was the back-up and brute force during their operations.
Now they get along fine, and occasionally Hazor’ll start a tussle with Koros just because, but only for fun~ She doesn’t steal from them much (since she lives with ‘em most times XD), and she will sometimes add to their stash from her own ‘outings’. After all, she still enjoys getting past security and the puzzle of systems.
(Well, that was more a description plus history than just history, but it works~
Her strange accent often sets her apart, but she doesn’t mind. She likes that she knows something unique(since a lot of Umbras don’t take the time to actually learn a language, as lots of translation magics and technologies are available), and thinks it fun to ramble in Norwegian now and again. XD (Also writes in Nordic, so she doesn’t have to worry so much about people reading her notes and stuff)
She always has her brown messenger bag with her, whether she’s on a mission, in either of her forms, or just hanging out. Sometimes she’ll take it off, like if she’s going to get wet or is in a real bashing fight, but always likes to have it in her sights. She keeps her tonfa (retracted/smaller) inside, her lock-picking kit, a few electronics, tranquilizers, scissors, some random semi-precious things she can take with her and sell if she has to run for it, a few treats in case she meets some unfriendly beasties (also taste pretty good as snacks, she says), needle and thread, a large dark cloak she can wear to blend better… Plus lots of other stuff I don’t even know about. Not even sure she knows everything in there… O.o
A random urge she finds she gets is to mess around with power tools. Electric screwdrivers, pneumatic nail guns, electric saws, jackhammers… Also some more high-techy stuff that’s found on Umbra, but I don’t quite know much about those. ^-^’ I don’t really know if she’s very handy with them, as she doesn’t get to use them much, but she enjoys doing it~
She doesn’t really keep in contact with her family at all. Her mother hasn’t been seen (to Hazor’s knowledge) in a long time, and her father feels disgraced by the career she chose. So, Hazor’s fine with not seeing them at all. She doesn’t really talk about them much at all, and if people ask, she generally says that they just don’t get along~ It’s not a big deal to her, really, and just doesn’t any pity or the like.
Oh! And I think that the vest she wears constantly as an adult is made of Kevlar or something similar but more advanced.
*~*~*
I’ll explain the meeting of the group more in-depth later, but for now this’ll do~ :3
Wow; I learned more about Hazor than I expected~ Yay! 83
Thanks to Wikipedia, Google, and youtube for helping me with finding information~
I know they probably don’t really care if I credit them or not, but oh well.

Ooooo, it's always fun to do a character's background and discover new facts! >3 I like how you described Hazor's background and her tools for stealing!

heheh thanks!
And it'd be kinda hard to describe Hazor without her robbery tools~ X3 They're practically synonymous! (<.< if that's spelled right..)
