Kion POV:The great kings have a way of spiting you. You may think you outrun your evil doings, but they will torture you for your crimes. I remember Mheetu’s look when he died. Nuka was already dead and hunched over. Mheetu had a smile. He flopped over and mumbled.
“I’m coming home…”
I realize now what his torture was. He lost his father, mother, his older sister, and now his brother. He never could save his family. He didn’t get a chance to. When he died, he was happy. He was coming home, to them, his family.
Nuka’s torture was being overlooked. Constantly. No matter what he did he was never acknowledged in the public eye. Vitani’s torture was like Mheetu’s, slowly losing family, however she witnessed it right before her eyes. And now all I could think was, what was my torture?
Turning my attention to the bloody pool surrounding me, I thought, I would never know. I watched paws run past me. Koda and Askari… They’re gonna live. Hopefully. They can fix everything. Kiu approached me.
“Why hello there Kiongozi.”
“You will suffer. A painful, long, hard life.”
“Don’t you mean death? Is the blood running out your head too much?” Kiu chuckled.
