Description
This is another of the color palette charts I'm putting together as a shortcut for Poe. Everything about Sara is brown until it comes to her uniform and accessories, so it was very important to choose colors that wouldn't make her seem low contrast or washed out. I was careful about choosing photos that accurately represented Sara's darker, olive skin tones... but on the chart, they still seem quite rosy. I hope they'll still make sense when Poe starts doing color work! The eye colors in particular are unexpected... they seem completely unreal, but actually they come from a couple photos of regular hazel eyes in golden mode.

Oh, and technically, Sara's uniform is pure black. Real black fabric never shows up as pure black, though, and it'd lose all definition on the page if Poe just filled it in with solid, true black, so I pulled a range of shades from a photograph of ninjas in black uniforms. The filling in of pure blacks is actually one of the ongoing arguments that Poe and I have. In plain black and white line art, it makes some sense, but the minute you add shading or color you risk losing all your detail. I'm constantly having to remind him not to count on just filling in the blacks whenever he's working with color.
