Description
DiscoveryAct One
As time passed the Ing horde grew in strength as did their Emperor. After his discovery of Aether the Emperor began forming the Horde in preparation of his first expedition to this new world.
Only the fittest was allowed on this first trip. The Emperor searched for many, choosing only the strongest and cruelest to accompany him on this journey.
And they gathered, from the Toxic Lowlands, to the Poisoned Desert, swarming from all over the planet to prove themselves worthy.
Thousands came, and he fought each and every one of them. Of the thousands there were only a hundred were acceptable.
The Emperor gathered them to his dark temple in the sky.
They stood, waiting patiently yet anxiously for their Emperor to open the gateways so they could claim this new world as their own, and more importantly, gain a foothold in a universe ripe for conquest.
The Emperor began to shake as he always did, and a hole opened among them. It called to them beckoning each to step forth and enter.
The Emperor emitted a fierce roar, and charged into the portal.
The others followed excitedly, screeching loudly as they walked into the gateway.
They, the first Ing to see the new world.
Act Two
Of the hundred that marched into the gateway, only sixty came out. Confused, they saw the bright, burning light of twisted perversion of their home.
Many began to feel the effects of the light and were beginning to die. The Emperor knew this would happen and showed them something they had never seen before.
A native had appeared at the disturbance made by their arrival and was making threatening gestures at the Emperor. He slowly floated towards it and upon contact began melding with.
The Ing then learned of the most feared ability they ever had. An ability that would inspire fear to all. It would tear at the hearts and minds of their enemies.
Possession.
As the process ended, the creature was changed.
Its carapace was dark, its eyes more resembled the Ings rather than its own, and instead of the creatures soul there was the Emperor.
The Emperor drew out more of the creatures and the Ing that accompanied him followed suit.
It was apparent that there weren’t enough hosts to go around so many of the Ing fought for them, those that were unable to gain access to a host retreated back to their world.
As the Ing that remained completed this task, they began to investigate their surroundings.
They found they were in a temple not to dissimilar from the Emperors and there were objects clearly made by sentient beings. They searched for some time before returning to their dark home. The Emperor was disappointed that he did not find the ones who had made the temple.
When they returned the Emperor showed them how to shed the body they had stolen. When the Emperor left the stolen body it was dead, lifeless. The Ing that returned with him did what he had done with the same effect, all bodies were dead.
The Ing had made their first trip to Aether.
Act Three
The Ing made many return trips to this twisted world, Discovering that it was not to dissimilar from theirs. Apart from the light it held so much resemblance. Statues dedicated to some creature, shooting light into some device, stood in the world exactly where testaments to the Emperors power stood.
Where the word of the Emperor was engraved in stone were lights that formed patterns. Where the Toxic lowlands were there was a swamp that lacked the tainted quality the Ing preferred.
And where the Poisoned Desert resided there was one that was horribly bright, the sky clear, and the star shined through in all its twisted glory.
The Emperor, however, was unsatisfied with all this. He wanted to find the beings that had made the statues, the temple, the light.
The Emperor became impatient, angry. Something gnawed on his senses about these creations. He became so impatient that he decided to find these beings himself.
He went to his temple and brought forth the gateway as always. He entered it growing more fervent with each passing moment, knowing he would find something there.
Even the passage trough the world between worlds was slow to his senses it seemed to go on forever. Until he emerged from the darkness and into the light. He floated in front of the statue, staring at it. He felt as if it was taunting him, when he felt a presence.
It was a powerful presence, full of light. And it was… so strong. He turned to look at it. It was just as he remembered it, during his first visit, save for a few vital differences . It had the furry chest, the wings on its back. But it was smaller, younger he suspected, than the one he had encountered before.
He stared at it, it looked at him. He began to feel the same rage he always felt when near these beings of light. His rage began to become uncontrollable when the being slowly approached him, fingers extended. It touched him, and he felt its energy, its life, and he could resist no longer.
He grasped it, began melding with it, and he felt something he had not felt when stealing the form of other creatures.
It had a mind.
He touched it, felt it, and explored it.
He felt its confusion, its fear. It was so… delicious.
He learned of others, of homes, of… families. He had a hard time grasping the subject of ‘family’. He explored its thoughts. He felt its birth, so different from his own. Its first glimpse of light. Its name…. yes.
L-Dan.
Sadly the concept of names eluded him.
As he consumed it he heard it speak.
“What are you? Why are you doing this?”
He thought for a moment before sending it to his victim.
“I am terror.”
He consumed the being and returned home feeling enlightened.
And when he arrived he spread his consciousness to all Ing, and he filled their minds with one thought.
To War!

Just the begining, I have yet to write the third.
But I have more stories on my account, if you'd like to read them.
