The First to Fall
/Chapter One
“Computer!”
“Yes general?”
“How is the construction of the dimensional gateway coming along?”
“It will be done within two hours sir.”
“Excellent work computer.”
He paused, “I want to talk to you concerning the gateway.”
“Yes?”, she replied, her voice as smooth as ever.
“I understand that there will be some problems?”
“Unfortunately yes, I‘m sorry to say that the portal will only allow one object transported at a time.”, she continued, “Also, objects of certain mass and composition of matter will not be able to go through.”
He thought for a moment about what that meant.
“So I cant bring anything to big with me?”
“Yes general, I’m sorry to say you wont be able to bring your M.E.S.S.”
Hmmmm, to bad. It would have made accomplishing his objective much easier.
“Also sir, the gateway cant process the crystal matrix that makes up the artificial intelligence of many robots.”
“So neither you or Khaos can come with me, huh?”
“No general, I’m afraid you’ll have to go it alone, you can only take what you can carry in your pak.”
It was unfortunate, unexpected. But he needed them here anyway to protect the base.
“Excuse me computer.”, he said as he left the observation room. He needed to be alone. To think about all that was happening.
He proceeded to the very top of the tower, his command chamber, and sat on a gravity throne more elaborate than the one on his ship, and thought. He thought of what had been promised to him. The chance to become admiral of the Irken Armada was overwhelming to say the least, but what really sealed the deal was the promise of bringing back the one he loved.
He sat, serene and content, staring at the desert that stretched for miles, and… remembered. He remembered feeling her soft skin, slightly paler than his own. He remembered stroking her curled antennae and feeling it quiver under his finger. Seeing her glorious lime-green eyes, his red reflected back giving a terrific display of color that enhanced her beauty. He remembered feeling her body close to his, her steady breathing relaxing him as she slept.
And then he remembered when he first heard the news. He felt sadness, emptiness. A cold and unnerving sense of pain coursing through his body, shedding the only tears he had ever released in his entire life.
And then he felt rage.
All encompassing. Driving his every motive. He felt the blood of thousands he deemed responsible splash against his skin. Relished as he personally delivered the extinction of an entire race. And watched calmly, silently, as their existence was erased permanently from the universe. He felt great pleasure in doing what he did, and at the back of his mind he knew it was wrong. Zirk knew what he was doing was wrong. And what bothered him the most was that he knew she would have never wanted him to do the things that he did, but he felt such pain and hate for those who committed themselves to the atrocity that tore him so.
“General. General? GENERAL!”
The computer woke him from his trance like state.
“Yes computer?”
“The dimensional gateway is near completion sir. I recommend you proceed to the lower level of the tower.”
“Thank you computer.”
Zirk took the main elevator, despite the fact it would take a considerable amount of time to reach the bottom.
It gave him more time to think.
He didn’t know how  he would destroy the multitude of worlds. He decided he would obliterate the first few worlds on his own and would later develop a way to destroy them all at once.
As the elevator was a quarter of the way down, he allowed himself to indulge in his memories.
When he finally made it to the bottom of the tower the gateway was complete and fully functional.
It was a large tear in reality and it was pulsing with unimaginable power. The gateway was held aloft by four spear like devices that exploded a form of fusion energy into the hole to keep it active.
Zirk stepped up to the raised platform that led to the dimensional gateway and  proceeded towards it. Its light reflected in his eyes, as it produced the only light in the chamber, as he stepped into its depths.
Khaos saluted as his master disappeared into the vortex.
The computer said one last thing before moving on to maintaining the tower.
“Good luck general.”
She knew he couldn’t hear her, but she said it anyway.

/Chapter Two
As soon as he entered Zirk felt as though he was flying at an incredible speed, his very being torn to pieces. He hoped it would end soon but it seemed to go on forever. Zirk tried to open his eyes and found that he couldn’t. It just went on and on until he felt himself being brought back together, atom by tiny atom.
And he saw glorious light! Beautiful, wonderful light!
And then he crashed into the ground, hitting it hard, rolling for a while before he came to a stop.
He rolled onto his back and looked at the sky, his breath coming in ragged gasps. Zirk made a note to himself that he would have to fix the landing next time he traveled. Zirk extended his spider legs from his Pak and looked around. He seemed to have landed in the road of a typical earth neighborhood. Thankfully there was no one around, but he was still in the open. He quickly  moved, using his spider legs, between two houses, and not a moment to soon. Almost as soon as he reached the safety of the two houses, an earth vehicle rumbled noisily past. He looked in disgust as it spat out toxic chemicals into the atmosphere. Filthy creatures. They had no concern for their planet, in a few hundred years they would begin to feel the effects of their stupidity.
He thought for a moment. He needed to get a disguise until he could create a means to destroy this planet. As he was thinking of a way to escape from this neighborhood he heard a noise behind him. It was coming from behind the house, inside an wood enclosure. He crept up and used his spider legs to peer over the edge, being to short to look over it without them. Zirk saw a human tossing a round object, and a four legged earth mammal chasing after it. It would be an acceptable specimen.
He was beginning to bunch his four mechanical legs beneath to leap over the fence and on the human when he heard something thunk against the wood enclosure. He thought the human had somehow seen him, but instead he heard sniffing like it was trying to pick up his scent. He peeked through the space between two posts and saw the earth mammal sticking its nose onto the ground. Zirk hoped that it would simply walk off . Instead it stopped abruptly and stared at the wooden posts, as though it could see him right through it. It then began growling as though it had seen him.
“What is it girl?”, he heard the human question. Damn, damn, damn. It was alerting the human to his presence. Zirk had to act quickly. He pulled one mechanical leg behind his head and thrust it into the mammal through the wood enclosure, puncturing the cranium with ease. He drew the rest of his legs under him and propelled himself over the posts. Zirk landed on the humans chest, knocking it off its feet, simultaneously impaling the humans limbs to the ground with his mechanical ones. Before the human could even scream in pain or surprise Zirks hand was over its mouth preventing it from making any noise whatsoever. It struggled, desperately trying to free itself from Zirks grasp. Zirk slowly reached behind his back, opening his Pak, and brought out a round device. The human stopped struggling and looked at it, fear obvious in its eyes. Something Irken eyes didn’t show. He held the object above the humans head. Slowly, many small tentacles flowed out from within, gliding towards its head. The human must’ve known what was coming, and it struggled even harder but to no avail. The tentacles slid across the humans face, when they reached its nose Zirk let go of its mouth allowing it to scream freely. Well for a few seconds. Zirk withdrew his spider legs into his Pak as the human stopped moving. He stood over the body before touching the mass of tentacles surrounding its face. They immediately contracted into the sphere, and Zirk put it back in his Pak. Suddenly he felt information began pouring into his brain. The humans language, its memories, its genetic makeup. Zirk pulled a metal cube out of his Pak, he poked it in a few places and activated it. It began to pulse and folded out larger than an object of its size should have. It eventually began forming into a vague gun shape. When it finished it was half Zirks size and was discharging electricity at the end of its muzzle. Zirk pointed it at the two bodies and squeezed the trigger. A brief flash of lightning lanced out and disintegrated them both, leaving only ashes.
His job done, Zirk left the enclosure only to stop for a few scant seconds to activate his hologram generator, taking on the appearance of his victim. It flickered on, and Zirk walked into to the street.

/Chapter Three
Zirk walked along a designated area, he concluded it was made to keep the frail humans from being crushed by their disgusting vehicles. As he continued he saw that these particular humans were more advanced than previously seen, yet they seemed oblivious to its infinite possibilities. They even seemed more dull and dimwitted.
When Zirk progressed further into a large city, that might have been a tenth of the size a city on Irk, he noticed further signs of technological advancement, as well as stupidity. Large advertisements stated things like “Eat Garbage!” or “Smell”.
Apparently the technology here was used to make up for the humans miniscule brains.
Zirk was beginning to think of a way to destroy this pitiful ball of dirt so he could move on to the next pitiful ball of dirt when he noticed an unusual signal coming from a nearby neighborhood. He looked into an alley and saw a single human sitting in his own filth.
Disgusting.
Zirk quickly pulled the data unit and scanned the area. He saw the last thing he could have ever expected to see. An Irken signal! In fact there were two! If there were irkens here then that meant that he was not the only one who knew about the dimensions. Then again that meant his Almighty Tallest already knew their situation, and had lied to him. He hoped that was not the case. Zirk chose the signal closest to him and headed in that direction.
He reached the signals location when the planets star was sinking into the horizon. He stopped only to look at the house. It was as typical as any earth home yet the signal was undeniable, it was coming from this home. Zirk stepped up to the door and raised his hand to knock as the stars last light dwindled and all became dark. Zirk knocked on the door and an odd human with a large head answered. Perhaps this irken was in disguise?
“What is your given name brother?”
The other irken just stood there seemingly unable to understand him.
“Pardon, do you know Irken?”, Zirk began to have doubts that this was truly an irken.
“What?”
By the empire!
“I’m sorry I must have the wrong home.”
Dib closed the door and returned to the couch.
“That was some weird language that guy spoke, huh Gaz? Kinda familiar.”
“Eh…”
Zirk quickly left the home confused. How could this have happened? Zirk decided to investigate the signal further. He extended his spider legs from his Pak and scaled the home dropping on the other side. His data unit still showed the signal coming strongly from a particular room. Zirk put the data unit away and peered into an area humans called a “garage”.
The sight that greeted him shocked him to the core. There was an Irken vehicle in this humans grasp! It was a spittle runner albeit an extensively modified. Zirk removed the glass covering to a window and crept to the ship. He put his hand to it. The ship did not respond. Odd. Damn human must have tampered with it. He looked around and saw various mechanical devices, as inferior as they were they would do. Zirk grabbed a metal pipe and inserted a few copper wires, he then used a tank filled with an unknown substance, but the label said it was flammable. He used it and welded the tube to an object that vaguely resembled a computer. Zirk came around the ship and inserted the crude hacking device into its main engine drive. He heard it whine then stop. Zirk kicked the machine and it returned to its annoying progress. It pinged and Zirk moved to the ships opening. Its cover slid back and Zirk hopped in. He studied and saw it was badly damaged. The power conduit was destroyed and the buttons were horribly mashed. He retrieved his data unit and its tentacles inserted themselves into the ship drawing in the information. His data unit displayed a hologram. In it was a fairly pretty Irken female, aside from her cold purple eyes. She had a bionic enchantment jutting from her forehead and looping to the back of her head, but that was all the enhancements he could see. Zirk had, in fact, numerous enhancements, except they were all internal, Artificial alloy muscles in his legs and arms, brain amplifiers that allowed him to think even faster than the all powerful control brains and resist mind control, and he held prototype nanomachines circulating in his blood stream,
“…I’ll fill the planet with snacks as an offering to my Tallest.”, apparently it was in the middle of a transmission,
“You never considered Earth valuable, But I shall MAKE! it valuable.”
Odd, her erratic behavior might would earn her an investigation of her Pak. Perhaps she was a defective? Or maybe it was her personality. Zirk played the message back. “My Tallest”? Maybe his Tallest had known about Earths dimensional instability. Zirk accessed the signal the other irken contacted and left quickly. He left the home just as someone came into the room. Zirk walked on for a while in the darkness, the sky shone with a brightness one wouldn’t expect from a planet as polluted as this.

/Chapter Four
Zirk decided to head to the other irken signal, it was weaker but it was Irken. He checked the stars position, it was still early, the star wouldn’t rise for another eight hours.
When Zirk arrived he felt overwhelming disgust. It was painfully obvious that this house was not made by humans. It had various human-like creatures in its yard, various tubes snaked into the buildings unfortunate to be next to it. As he walked towards the door he saw that the creatures eyes followed him: a security network. Also pitiful.
Just as he was about to ring the “Doorbell” when the door flung open and a something wearing a sad costume of a dog walked out. He stared at it and it stared at him.
“Got any a them taquitos?”
“……… no.”
“Aw man.”
The thing slammed the door in Zirks face. He was tired of subtlety. Zirk tore the door of its hinges and threw it into the street. He scanned the home as he walked in. The first thing he noticed was the thousands of tubes in plain sight hanging from the ceiling. The second was the ridiculous posters screaming stupid phrases such as “FOOD” or “squid”. The dog suit laid on the floor and a S.I.R. sat watching earth broadcasts.
“Where is your master?”
“What?”
“where is you-”
“What?”
“Where is your mas-”
“What?”
“WHERE IS YOUR MASTER!!?”
The robot stared at Zirk its mouth opening slightly. Zirks patients was running out.
“WHERE IS YOUR MASTER!!!!”
“He went that way.”
The S.I.R. pointed to a toilet that should have been in a “Bath Room”. Zirk walked to it and looked in.
“Are you sure?”
“Well… I did see him go down the toilet, but then I did see him walk out…., then I seen him go back in and that bad lady chased after him, and I heard screaming and tacos and screaming and T.V. and explosions that went just like this! KABLAAAAAM!!!”
“I see.”
The poor S.I.R. unit was probably malfunctioning. Zirk stepped into the toilet and was transported down into the bowels of the structure. He thought about the presence of other Irkens here, from what he could tell they were an abomination. Perhaps his great enemy decided to play a horrible trick on the Empire by creating these Irkens here or the Irkens simply found this place. Whichever it was he could no longer focus on that, the walls of the elevator were becoming scraped and torn. As it came to a stop he heard shouting and cursing. If it was going to get rough he might as well be prepared. Zirk took out purple ring from his Pak and placed it around his neck. Immediately purple armor sprung from the collar and encased Zirks body. It formed a protective chest plate, iridius-adamantine boots, dark purple power gloves (capable of crushing steel like foil), and a small E.O.R. (External Orbit Robot) floated on his right shoulder. Zirk stepped out and into a room that had been severely damaged. Wires hung loose and spat out electricity while repair bots fluttered in and out fixing the mess. As he progressed he could begin to make out dialogue.
“Get out! You’ll ruin everything!!”
“ Zim you idiot! I‘m here because I have no where else to go!”
Zim? That caused Zirk to stop. He had heard the name before. It was the name of the universes greatest destroyer. An Irken that had brought innumerable worlds to their knees. Most planets begged for mercy or pleaded to simply be enslaved by the Irken Empire, at the slightest hint of an invasion led by the infamous Zim. Could the great Destroyer really be here?
“You’ll never take my mission Tak!! MY PRECIOUS MISSION!!!!”
“I’m not here for your stupid mission! If you’d shut up and listen I’d explain things!!”
“NEVER!!!! Your still after my MISSION!!!”
Zirk heard an explosion. He stood before a large door, he waited as the noise stopped for a moment then picked up again. Zirk opened the gigantic door and walked into a flaming hell.
