What I find really appealing about this photo is how you have muted all coulours bar the light blue of one eye- which in itself isn't to in your face but instantly draws your attention. By blurring the background you have brought the focal point of the image right out- it isn't being detracted from due to a distracting background like many photographs are.
The composition of the piece is also quite well done. I believe that by not having the dog's face taking up the whole of the frame, and by moving it slightly to the right instead creates a nice effect.
Overall, a lovely piece with great detail and a very nice overall effect. Very appealing. Great job!!!

I think this is an interesting thing to do, drawing attention to the eye. But it's quite possible that going full on black and white, was a little bit overboard. Maybe try increasing the eye's saturation a little, and decreasing everything else a lot, but not 100% black and white.

This was my first attempt at playing with monochromatic captures, my regular camera doesn't have this feature. Thank you very much for your feedback, I'll try not to make things look so heavy with the B%W next time I play with my friend's camera. ^__^
