I love how the bright colors subverts the title. Asylum, to me, means something in a muted tone, something mysterious, something hidden...something only visible to the searching eyes. However, the bold red and blue just seem to announce the presence of the building. The colors are shouting out the location at the top of their lungs and are not afraid should anyone know where... In fact, it is almost as if they would prefer to be known. Want to be seen.
I think I'm babbling a bit now, but this is just such an interesting piece. The title, the colors, the off-sided window with the interestingly-patterned fabrics, and the metallic number on the upper right hand corner all scream out a mystery waiting to be discovered. All this doesn't make it the least bit secretive and mysterious, in fact, it is more so.
