Description
Chase awakes in a hospital. A sterile white hospital, and while he appreciates its simplicity, he absolutely hates the emptiness. His head hurts, and there is a dull ache in his right arm.
He turns his head to the right but it wouldn't move.
"Chase?"
Oh good. Jack's there. That's good. Chase tries to acknowledge the boy's inquiry, but the most he can manage is a raspy barely audible and very guttural noise.
He frowns. And tries again. No more than a rasp. Why couldn't he speak? His mind is invaded with a very real very foreign sense of fear.
He felt Jack's hand on his arm.
"It's okay, baby," he soothes. "You've been out for a hell of a long time, it makes sense that your voice would be about as useful as a pile of shit right now." His strange humor always cheered the older man somewhat. "I'll go get the doctor." And he leaves. Chase would have ordered him to stay if his voice had been working properly.
He remembers that it had been a completely normal day. They were driving somewhere.
That's right. The car crash. They were all in a car crash, so that's probably why he was where he was.
Something like that.
"Mr. Young?" The doctor. Chase lifts his head. It still doesn't work.
"Mr. Young? Can you hear me?"
Yes! Chase wants to growl.
"Mr. Young, I need you to focus on my voice." Chase blinks. Where was Jack?
"Mr. Young, focus."
But I don't want to.
"Good. Now can you tell me the month?" His voice is very gentle.
"October." He knows it's October. That's the month of Jack's parents' anniversary.
"Try again, Mr. Young. Nice and clear now."
Chase frowned. He does as told.
"October." He spoke clearer.
Later, he would realize that he hadn't actually said anything. Only moved his mouth.
The doctor was patient.
"One more time," he encouraged. Chase is getting tired of this. Where was Jack?
"October!"
The doctor approved of this admission and moves on.
"Good. How about the day?"
It's Friday, Chase thinks. He knows it's Friday because Jack was so excited about the last day of school before an impromptu family vacation.
"It's Friday," he says, but it sounds like a croak. Still, the doctor nods encouragingly.
"Good," he murmurs.
There's a clipboard in his hand and he's writing little notes. Chase found Jack. He's hovering nervously over the doctor's shoulder. The doctor's ignoring him, Chase observes. He must be very patient indeed.
"Alright, Mr. Young, do you remember what happened?"
Chase doesn't expect the question. He was too busy looking at Jack.
"What?"
The doctor is patient.
"Do you remember what happened?" Chase thinks he should be angered by the patronizing voice but he answers anyway.
"There was an accident," he says slowly. He's still not used to hearing his voice like that. The doctor nods.
"Yes, there was. You were in a very critical condition; pretty banged up. You've been in a coma for three days. Anything else you remember?"
Chase thinks hard for a moment. Then sees Jack.
"Spicer. I remember Jack," he answers.
"That's right," the doctor says carefully. "You're suffering from a cerebral contusion, which is basically when your brain has been bruised. We don't know how serious the damage is, and we won't be performing any tests until you feel better. Don't panic if you're not able to perform simple every day things, that's normal for someone in your condition. Do you understand?" Chase nods slowly. Jack looks worried.
"He has brain damage?" he asks. The doctor ignores him. Well, he is stating the obvious.
"On the bright side, you've been showing excellent progress since you woke up, Mr. Young. You should make a full recovery if you continue the way you are."
Chase nods again. Brain damage. Now he knows why he can't move his arms.
"Well, I'll let you get some rest, Mr. Young," the doctor says, standing up. "Please don't worry, you'll be fine." He leaves before Jack can ask his question.
As soon as the door shuts Jack slides back into his seat. He looks tired and old. Chase wants to touch him but his arms won't move.
"I was really worried," Jack finally mutters. "You were pretty bad for a while there. You sure you're alright?" Chase smirks at him but his lips only half respond.
"I'm alright." It's exhausting to talk. "You?" Jack grins.
"Yep, I'm fine," he says and he sounds like himself. "I actually should be dead. It was a goddamn miracle that I lived." There's not a scratch on him. "But my parents..."
God, Chase hates it when Jack cries. Especially now, when he can't do anything to stop it.
"I am sorry, Spicer. Jack." Jack smiles at him and Chase really wants to hold him right about now.
"It's okay, baby. At least you made it out alive." He takes Chase's hand in his and gives it a squeeze.
Chase is relieved that he can at least squeeze back.
~ X ~
Wuya showed up while Chase was sleeping. Jack told him. He said she took one look at him and then left. Chase didn't dwell on it. He knows Jack hates to talk about Wuya. He does too.
"Did anyone else visit?" he inquires. Jack nods and looks away in a pout. The adorable one that Chase finds amusing to no end.
"Your college buddy Omi came to see you," he scoffs. "Clay, Kimiko, and Raimundo too." Chase can feel himself stiffen at the mention of the Brazilian's name. He never really enjoys any topic of discussion that has to do with his lover's ex-boyfriend. Jack always tells him he's got nothing to worry about but Chase knows he can never be too careful. He knows that Raimundo is still sweet on Jack. Besides, who could ever give up Jack Spicer for Kimiko Tohomiko? It's just not done!
"Well, I gotta go see a guy about a will," Jack says. Chase chuckles, knowing Jack's trying not to appear affected by his parents' death. Jack smiles and kisses Chase.
"See ya in a bit, kay?" Chase nods.
Before Jack leaves, though, Wuya comes back in.
"Chase!" She hurries over and gives him a once over. He rolls his eyes.
"What is it you want, Wuya?" His voice is doing much better today. After she straightened her hands go to her hips.
"Well, is that any way to treat a lady?"
"No, but it's the proper way to treat you. Now, I repeat, what do you want?" Wuya glares and opens her mouth to respond but she thinks better of it and turns away.
"I was going to give you an opportunity to have me back, you ungrateful pig of a man!" she hisses. "But if you're going to be stubborn and refuse to let go, then fine!"
That was the loudest Chase ever heard a door slam in his life. He turns to Jack and feels the anger leave him. It's still hard to lift his arm, but he manages it.
"Come here, Jack, we need not worry about her anymore," he soothes. Jack makes a happy sound in his throat and snuggles up with Chase on the bed, carefully.
"What the hell was that even about, anyway?" The vibrations of Jack's voice feel good on his shoulder.
"I have no idea," Chase says and he falls asleep.
~ X ~
Chase doesn't like that he has brain damage, but he accepts it.
The doctor's a good doctor so Chase has to trust what he says. And he says that Chase Young has brain damage. He knows he can trust Jack and Jack says that he has trouble remembering things.
He himself feels fine. He can move his body without problems now and he no longer has any problems with speech. So really the only thing wrong with him is his inability to remember some things. Though he knows not to ignore anything as serious as short term memory loss, Chase knows that he's at least well enough to go home. So why won't they let him?
Chase voices his indignation to Jack often, who just sits and listens, sometimes randomly inserting his two cents.
Speaking of Jack, Chase has never felt more appreciation for him than he does now. His young lover has been staying faithfully by his side ever since he woke up. Usually he sleeps at the hospital, all curled up in that horrible chair, red hair hanging limply around his face, since he hasn't gelled it once for a while. Chase is proud that Jack's worry for him extends so far that it causes him to forget about keeping up his appearance. He'll always look beautiful to Chase anyway.
Chase thought it would be more of a problem, but no one seems to mind Jack's near permanent residence in his room.
Wuya, on the other hand, is one presence he could do without. She keeps coming into his room to yell at him or coo fake words of worry and sympathy. When Jack's with him, the witch ignores him completely and pointedly, which always angers Chase to the point of near spontaneous combustion. He either wants to strangle himself or strangle Wuya. It would probably be more satisfying to strangle her.
During one visit, she even nearly sat on Jack, who had yelped and scurried out of the chair before her ample arse could trap him there. Chase would have lost it but Jack did first. He started yelling at her about her stupidity and her bitchiness and how a piece of shit was worth more than her. Chase agreed. Wuya ignored him determinedly by keeping her eyes fixed on Chase.
That was it for Chase. He had ordered her to leave at that moment and threatened that if she wasn't out of his sight within the next five seconds he would personally maim her.
She still visits. Jack has taken to standing by the window and glaring whenever she comes by. Chase always watches Jack, wishing Wuya would just leave.
Kimiko is visiting him today. Surprisingly, his old college associates are very faithful about their visits, and are much more considerate than Wuya, but they too, ignore Jack. Probably because they just don't like to see the haunted look in his eyes. Or maybe it's because they're too worried about Chase. Both make sense. And Jack doesn't seem to mind the lack of attention.
Kimiko is sitting in the chair beside his bed and looking at him with worried eyes.
"Chase?" she murmurs. "Are you feeling any better?" Chase nods, wishing she would go away so he could get back to reading his book. Jack told him he'd already read it three times, but Chase knows he's just joking with him. He'd have remembered, he loves that book. The last time he read it was a year ago.
"Yes, thank you, Kimiko," he says.
"The doctors say you're gonna be going home soon," she ventures. "At least it'll be better than here, right?" Chase sees pity in her eyes and only just manages to refrain from commenting cruelly.
"Yes, it will be, as you say, 'better than here'," he returns easily. "Jack will--"
"I know." She cut him off quickly and averts her eyes. "I know." Chase narrows his eyes. He knows that Kimiko always had a problem with homosexuals. He'd learned from Omi that her father once had a gay relationship that almost ruined his marriage with her mother. He understands that, but he still cannot condone her homophobia in regards to Jack or himself.
He turns to her and speaks like a parent.
"You should be more tolerant. Now more than ever, your closed mindedness is starting to get stifling."
"Don't you think I know that!?" She snaps at him and Chase has never heard her so angry. Apparently, this is some sort of breaking point for her. "Don't you think I'm trying to let that go now, Chase!? Jesus, I've been feeling like hell ever since I got word of the accident! The last thing I said to Jack was--was--Gaggh, I can't even say it, but I'm sorry, Chase. I'm sorry! I hate myself for the way I've acted, and now--" She stops herself and tries to collect her breath and her temper.
"I'm just so sorry," she whispers, and Chase is willing to believe that she will one day mature.
The door opens and Jack walks in. Kimiko leaves without acknowledging him. Chase revokes the thought of her possible maturity.
He shakes his head coldly and notices a book on his bedside table. Oh good. Someone left him something to read. And it just so happens to be one of his favorite books. How nice.
~ X ~
"I love you," Jack says. Chase blinks.
He's been hearing that a lot more from Jack lately. Like the youth is somehow afraid of losing Chase, even though it's been made perfectly clear that a full recovery is inevitable.
"I know," is Chase's instinctive response. They both know what he means.
Jack smiles and leans in to kiss him.
"I was so worried," he says against Chase's lips. "I really thought you were a gonner." Chase tightens his hold on Jack even though he's tired.
"I'm not going anywhere," he responds firmly even though his voice is a little scratchy from medication side effects.
"That's what you said to her," Jack whispers and Chase is frozen.
"What?" Even though he heard him, Chase wants to make sure he heard him correctly. Jack tries to hide a wince but Chase sees it anyway.
"You said that to her," Jack repeats. His voice is quiet. Chase is sure he'll remember that tone even with his brain damage. "You told her you'd always be there. And you left her. What if...what if you leave me?" Oppressing pause. Chase isn't quite sure what he just heard.
"How could you think I'd willingly leave you, Jack?" he finally inquires and his voice is hard. But he doesn't care. Jack seriously thinks that Chase leaving him is a valid possibility. "After everything we've been through? After everything I left for you, and everything you left for me. Have you so little faith in my ability to love you, in my love for you, that you think our relationship so easily dispensable? Why, Jack, why do you think so little of me?" He's just about yelling now and Jack looks about ready to piss himself but this still needs to be said.
"I..." Jack is speechless but Chase still waits for him to say something. "I'm sorry, Chase, I'm..." He stops to sigh. "I guess I'm still the immature idiot I always was. I just, I still can't believe that you'd go for me! Seriously, after all the insults, all the--the meanness I never thought that you would ever like me! And I'd already--"
"Enough," Chase cut him off with a kiss to his crimson hair. "I thought I already explained this to you?" Jack pouts and turns away with a terse nod.
"I was too naive and stupid and I would've ruined the relationship with my lack of common sense, common knowledge, and my disregard for all things practical, right? I get it, I get it!" Chase nods and nuzzles Jack's hair with reserved affection.
"Precisely. As rebellious as you were, you still lacked that knowledge and developed frame of mind that I require in a lover; that a romantic relationship with me demands." Jack winces and turns back to Chase.
"Chase, please, I already know all this. Let's not have that talk again, please. I just...I wanna make sure that you're always--always gonna be mine. That it's always just going to be this." He motions between himself and Chase. "The two of us, you know?" Chase nods. Of course he knows. He understands completely. Brain damage or not, Chase doesn't ever want to lose Jack and to know that Jack feels the same always warms his once dead heart.
"Always," he promises. "Us two." Jack grins and cuddles closer to him.
"Good."
~ X ~
"So, my friend, the time has finally come for you to return to your home." Omi stands before him now, on the day he's (as the young one says) finally discharged. He smirks.
"Indeed, little one," he agrees. He feels much much better now that he's completely healed. "I am looking forward to leaving this oppressing place behind once and for all." Omi nods and then looks down.
"Perhaps." He sounds awkward and nervous, not the ambitious and oftentimes overzealous youth that Chase knows and is used to. "Perhaps you would allow myself or Raimundo to transport you to your home." He looks up and his face is determined.
Jack, who's in the corner, looks up at Omi.
"I'm driving him," he says and his voice sounds as confused as Chase felt. Omi continues to look at Chase.
"You need help, my friend," he implores. "You are still recovering and you must be under careful guard. What would happen were there to be another accident of colliding cars because of carelessness? We have already..." He trails off and pauses for a moment, his eyes strangely glazed.
"Chase Young! You must accept our help! As your loyal friends, we would help you through this if only you would let us!" He speaks as though Chase had refused him. Jack stood up and walks over to Omi.
"He has help, short stuff." Omi ignores him.
"Jack--" Chase starts.
"Jack cannot care for you now, Chase Young!" There is a moment of silence in which both Jack and Chase stare at Omi.
"Yes I can," Jack insists. The sound of his footsteps are loud in Chase's ear. Omi shakes his head.
"Omi, please leave." Omi nods and leaves. Chase can tell he doesn't want to.
"Maybe you should go with him." Jack looks like he doesn't want that to happen. Chase looks at him. He hates the headaches that sporadically plague his head. Aftereffects of the medication.
"You really think so, Spicer?"
"Yeah, I guess. I mean, I'd be too worried to completely concentrate on driving anyway. It's probably for the best. I'll go with Raimundo." Chase's headache worsens.
"No, if we are not going together, then I will go with Pedrosa and you with Omi. Him I trust with you."
~ X ~
The door to his apartment is unlocked. Chase knows that Jack arrived first because Omi did.
"It's unlocked," Raimundo muses. Chase nods.
"Jack," he says by way of explanation. He understands Raimundo's wince. It was an awkward car ride back, with both Jack's current lover and his ex lover.
"You're uh--your dad's in there already, man. Wanted to talk to you before...yeah."
Chase nods and they go inside. Everything's as it's been before he and Jack left with the latter's parents.
Jack was probably in the bedroom. The apartment actually had more than one room.
Chase's father was in the kitchen, sitting in a chair at the table. He stands when he sees Chase.
"Chase."
"Father."
"How are you..?"
"As well as could be expected." Pause. "Jack--"
"Yes, well. I suppose that is the best I could've expected, considering you...considering what happened." Chase nods and looks down. His father hates him for his decision to take Jack (a male) as his lover.
"You'll be tired now, I trust. You should rest. You, boy, I'll take him from here." Raimundo looks a little lost but nods anyway and carefully transfers Chase to his father. Chase hates being treated like a porcelain doll.
There's an oppressive silence as Chase's father walks him to the bedroom. Everything is oppressive lately it seems.
Jack's inside, just as Chase expected. He hates the relieved feeling that wells up at the prospect of being without his father's presence. He should be able to handle it by now.
"Mr. Young," Jack mumbles almost inaudibly. Chase's father doesn't hear him.
"Is there anything you need, Chase?"
"No. Just...space." His father looks down.
"I thought so. Well, then, I'll be downstairs if you need anything." He turns and heads back to the kitchen.
"And Chase?"
"Yes?"
"...I'm sorry."
"..."
The door closes and Chase turns back to his lover. Gives him a good long stare.
"It's just us, I guess," Jack smirks. Chase only nods. He's still too tired for anything sexual, but Jack knows and he can tell. It was just one of his jokes.
"Chase, are you okay?" Chase nods and takes him into his arms. They fall asleep together on their shared bed in minutes.
~ X ~
Things are going fairly well. They've done nothing but relax in their room for the entirety of the week. Their old friends visit regularly and Chase's father, in a rare show of kindness, leaves food for them by the door.
Chase is glad for the normalcy. He knows he'll never forget the car accident, and neither will Jack, but at least they lived through it with minimal damage.
Jack is extra quiet today. Chase wants to demand an explanation for the subdued behavior but he gets the feeling that Jack wouldn't give him a straight answer. So he just lets his concern fester silently.
Besides, if he knows Jack, the need to voice his worries will be too much for him and soon it'll all come out of him one way or another.
"Hey, Chase?" Knew it.
"Hmm?"
"...Are you sure you're alright?" Chase looks at his lover.
"Yes. I' m perfectly fine, Jack. I made a full recovery didn't I?"
"Well yeah, but." Jack appears nervous. He fidgets when he's nervous. "But." Fidget. "You--you almost died! Do you have any idea how fucking scared I was? I thought I might lose you!" Chase sighs and holds his lover close.
"You will never lose me, Jack," he says patiently. "I would never leave this hellhole of a planet without taking you with me."
"But you almost did!" Jack is persistent. "You almost did leave this hellhole of a planet without me! You almost died, goddammit, Chase! You almost died and left me alone..!" Chase silences Jack with a sound kiss. The touch is moist, but Chase knows that the moisture isn't just from his lover's lips.
He pulls away and looks into the deepdeepred eyes that he loves so much and holds Jack firmly.
"I will never leave you," he swears. "I promise you." Jack looks at him hard.
"You mean it?"
"I mean it."
"...Good."
Silence.
"I love you."
~ X ~
Today is moving slowly. Chase woke up today feeling like lead. He didn't want to move, he didn't want to see anyone. He just wanted to be alone with Jack. His father left their food by the door like always, but Chase and Jack had yet to eat it. They lay coiled together in bed, unwilling to move, unwilling to leave each other.
It was currently six o'clock on the dot. Jack quickly glanced at the digital clock resting on the nightstand and proceeded to reluctantly disentangle himself from Chase's arms. Chase gave throaty growl of protest.
"Spicer," he groaned. "Come back to bed, it's far too early to be up." Jack shakes his head sadly.
"Can't, Chase. Not today." There's a resignation in his voice that has Chase wide awake.
"And why not?"
"You know why." And Chase fears that somewhere...he does.
"No, I don't."
"C'mon, Chase. You can't do this forever. You can't hide away forever." His hands are on Chase's shoulders, and Chase can see that he's every kind of serious.
"Yes, I can." He's childish and he knows it, but he doesn't want whatever it is that Jack's saying.
"Chase, seriously, you have to let go." Chase's heart sinks.
"Let go of what?"
"This. Us. Me." Chase feels dizzy now. He feels as though he's separated from his body, watching like a third party observer. It's like a movie.
"I don't want to."
"You have to." Jack's eyes are hard but loving. "You have to let go, Chase," Omi says. His hands, though small, are strong. "It is time to go, my friend."
Chase nods. He's in a dream, he knows it.
"You must get dressed. We must leave in a quarter hour." Omi has his clothes all ready and he pauses.
"You know why." It's not a question. Chase nods again. "Why?"
"Because we need to go," Chase replies simply.
"Where?"
"His memorial service."
It feels unusual to say that. So real and so surreal at the same time.
Omi dresses him with little help from him and guides him down to the kitchen with no protest from him.
As his father somberly busies himself and others with the preparation Chase remembers. Images fly through his head at breakneck speed. Waking up alone in a white sterile hospital. Wuya trying to win him back now that Jack is dead. Kimiko being unable to speak of her guilt and sorrow that Jack had passed after having heard her cruel words to him. Raimundo choked with grief as he drove Chase home. The door unlocked from before they left. His father unable to speak of the death. Himself cold and alone in his bedroom for a week, grieving in an empty bed.
Jack cremated whilst he was still in a coma.
It's all too ironic.
The collision was head on. Jack Spicer was pronounced dead on impact. He suffered no pain. I'm so sorry.
His father is ready and leads Chase out to the hearse waiting outside. They drive silently to the site of Jack's burial.
As Jack's ashes are scattered to the wind Chase can almost see the shattered pieces of his heart disappearing with them.
It's almost too painful to be real.
Almost.

Wow, thank you for the comment! It's great writers like you who serve to boost my ego! And remind me what I have to work up to.
I'm sure I could find several words to describe the flow and beauty of your own fics, in fact, several of them inspired my Chack writing muses.
Oh, and, excellent work on your story Mystic Roots! I just read it and loved it! Keep up the good work.
And thanks again for the comment, it made my day.

Good on ya, then!
Alright, I have a question for you that I hope doesn't make me sound like anything bad. If I were to post the first part of a chapter fic I'm trying to write, would you read it with a critical eye for grammar, sentence structure, or any other aspects of it that could/should be improved? If not, that's fine, I just thought I'd ask.
Anyway, thanks again for your comment on the fic, and I hope you, too, continue your stories. And Happy Boxing Day!! Hope you had a good Chirstmas!

Sorry it took so long to respond!!! My wisdom teeth were just ripped outta me (not really, they were "surgically removed" and I don't remember a thing cuz I was out on medical drugs!) and I have been out of it for the past week! School has been deciding that it still wants to torture me too...
I hope that roast turned out ok. If I helped my mother do anything in the kitchen besides boil water, we'd have no house. I am not a very good cook at all.

Thats alright at least you've responded at all, I've been waiting for people to reply to messages I've sent them years ago. Ouch, WHAT?! Out a whole week, what the heck did they give you?! I had them removed and I woke up like two hours later. Then again mine were mostly broken anyway so they only had to remove some pieces of them. I didn't even know they were broken neither, must have been from karate, probably from sparing class. Oh the roast turned out beautiful, and my parents said I was a natural in the kitchen, said I followed instructions perfectly. All mommy did was watch me just in case.

Gah!! I hate when people don't reply for years and then I forgot what the hell I was talking about with them and then things get all confusing! WAIT!! I wasn't unconscious for a whole week, I was just taking antibiotics and pain killers for the whole week! I was lying on the couch for a few days, then I was on my feet, but my mouth still hurt, so I wasn't fully functional for about a week! Is that a better explanation?? How did they break in a karate class without you knowing it? Were you so into the sparring that you didn't notice a shattered tooth in your mouth? Or was it more subtle than that?
Yeah, well, don't rub it in that you can cook and I can't. I'll learn!!! And then I'll challenge you to a cook off! Oh yeah! >

Oh few I was going to say, yeah that explains a lot more, cause usually that kind of stuff only works for a few hours not days. It started with one of them chipping, and then I guess I was so pumped on adrenaline I didn't feel it at all O.o I know crazy. It wasn't until my mouth started hurting a few months later. Lol your on haha.

OMG, do I really keep taking for-fricking-ever to respond to you?!?!? Don't answer that, I already know. -.-
ANYwho, I be very sorry about that!!
Yeah, I had to take one of those annoying pills every few hours, but always with food in my stomach or it wouldn't stay down. I am so glad that part of my life is over!
WOW, you are one dedicated karate student!! Why did it take a few months for it to start hurting??? Jeez, you've got one weird mouth!
...I'd probably lose in a cook-off with anyone. I'm much better at commentating on and eating the food! If you're ever in a real cook-off, I'll gladly volunteer my services as a taste tester!

Hahaha, don't worry life happens, I haven't been on in a while neither if that helps. Yeah that stuff made me so nauseous it wasn't cool, and after it I couldn't open my mouth fully cause of the stitches they put in, lol I ate a burger like a few days later it was one of the McDonalds third pounders and it took me like forever to eat it, haha so much for their sandwiches being tiny. Ugh, really Burger King is just annoying now, and I'm actually boycotting them (like it'd make a difference) cause of some perverted ads they've been showing lately. That and they scammed me big time.
Yeah hahaha, a lot of the instructors said I'm probably one of the most scary person they've met, when ever I get intense during a formation I let out this awesome tiger-like roar. Hahaha the guys think I'm cool for it though, I'm a brown belt now, and soon I'll be a black belt which is awesome.
Lol you and my karate teacher he loves food as much as his class.

Yeah, well, life's gotta stop happening long enough for me to respond to you! Now we come to the finals for all my classes except that super annoying hard class which is finally over!! We were talking about wisdom teeth right?? Yeah, well, now my gum's are smoothing over and I haven't had a pill that's made me nauseous since then! I hope it's been the same for you. Ugh, stitches sound awful! Did you have to cut that burger into little pieces, or did you have to pick it apart so it was small enough to eat? McDonalds doesn't know the meaning of "small burger." It doesn't exist to them! I saw the ad for Burger King where the King runs around like a crazy person, but I've never seen any perverted ones...Example, please? I'm not a pervert!!! For the record, I'm just curious. *shifty eyes*
Ooooh, you got tiger instincts! Yeah! Me? I can only imagine I have tiger instincts...I'd probably be out of commission as a person if I tried karate for one day. When'd you get into it?
Yeah, I love food lotses!! What be your favorite food to make??

Well, if you must know,it is mostly internet adds that they've been showing lately. I don't have the link, but my dad does, I'll look it up for you from him. But basically it refereed to eh-hem unsavory behavior associated with their food. But there are a few late night ones that are horrible too, like one of them had the "King" making out and dancing with girls that were clearly prostitutes. Thing is they're going bankrupt now, wonder why?
Karate? Well I started two years ago and now I'm in training to become a black-belt. My favorite food to make would be Mandarine Chicken with stir-fried veggies. You?

Oh, sorry I asked, it sounds awful. I have no idea what is appetizing about prostitutes or watching a plastic face make out with them, that's just disturbing. No question why they're going backrupt!
Should you so desire, we may now talk about something else!!
You will become one soon, I can just tell! It sounds like you have a lot of fun with that class. I hope all goes well for you.
That sounds delicious...8O I want some now! My favorite food to make...let's see...Well, I am partial to baked goods, and I love to make cookies...I also love Christmas. Usually, we make peanut butter blossom cookies for Christmas, and I think that those would take first place on my Favortie Things to Cook list. They taste so great! Especially when my dad makes them! Have you heard of them?

Lolz I'm sure I gave yah a warning about this and yeah who wants a burger from them after watching that? Anyway like you suggested, moving on...
Hopefully cause art is so underestimated actually thats one of the classes most politicians cut from schools when money is tight. Yeah it smells weird at first but its really good. Hmm... I've heard of peanut butter cookies but yours might be different. If you have the recipe I'll give it a try, got a lot of peanut butter lying around.

Freaky. Anyway!!! Any new ideas for that Chack work we were brainstorming about??
Yes, art in so many forms is under appreciated and underestimated. I hate when those classes have to be cut! It gets on my nerves...
They might be, I actually have a book of recipes and there's a recipe for the cookies and I can certainly give it to you (if you weren't serious, then deal, I'm giving you the recipe)!
1 1/3 cups all-purpose flour
1 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 cup of granulated sugar
1/2 cup of firmly packed light brown sugar
1/2 cup of shortening
1/2 cup creamy peanut butter
1 egg
2 tbsp milk
1 tsp vanilla extract
48 milk chocolate kisses, unwrapped
Mix all the dry ingredients together and then add the wet ingredients. Mix at medium speed w/ electric mixer and scrape the bowl occasionally. Chill dough for 30 min. Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Roll the dough into 1-inch round balls on ungreased cookie sheet. Bake for 12 min. or until they turn light brown color. Remove from oven and immediately place one chocolate kiss in the center of each (the edges of the cookie will crack). Make 4 dozen.
Well! There you have it! This is how I make my peanut butter blossoms, which are the most delicious cookies in the whole world! In my humble opinion. If you do make them, tell me how it goes. You should have enough peanut butter for a few batches.

I completely forgot we were doing a Chack thing and I am really sorry, ugh I don't want to make excuses for myself but yeah just been really crammed with stuff I had to do. But if you want to go through with it I'm in.
Yeah I agree whole heartedly, I mean the only things we did in class was charcoal drawings and pastels, when I got into my first art classes I was thrown for a loop. I had to learn not only hands on stuff but lectures too. Mmmm... these sound great I'll give them a try for sure.

That's fine, I was a little crammed myself! I'm still slightly crammed right now, even. I've got finals coming up and am shirking all that crap that I should be doing! I'm feeling pretty sheepish right now... Yayz for bad puns!! I think it'd be fun to go through with it! We might have to reread some of our old exchanges or re-go over some of the details.
Same with us, but I put up with it, cuz I love art! Lectures for art??? I only had to listen to five minute lectures of how to do this or that! Yes, you should give them a try!! They are delicious!!! I'm sure you can tell, I'm experimenting with emoticons and deviant icons and stuff. It be fun!

Oh I've just been a lazy bones lately, I mean the only thing that is keeping me from practicing my art is the fact that I need a job soon. I've just been accepted to Rhode Island College and though financial aid covers most of the bills its still safer to have a job. But I need to get the creative juices pumping so yeah I'll revise some of our ideas for the fan-fictions we came up with awhile back.
Ugh the high school program I had was sad, like it was a fusion between art history and cre'pas , the only technique we learned was coping old national geographic pictures.
Haha yeah I've noticed some of them are dumb though like the alien ones and stuff.

Good luck with that job! I have only a part time job and only because my brother (who had the job before me) has chosen to get a job closer to his college over the summer. It's pretty simple, though, all I have to do is be a secretary/assistant type thing. I'll get my creative juices pumping as well, and we can figure all that weird stuff out and make a fic out of it!
Ooh, that sounds bad. I wish it could have been better for you. The art program I took taught a lot of different techniques, but I don't think I learned them very well.
Well, thank you very much for your kind words (sarcasm), I just love your blatancy! Jk, I know a lot of them are cheesy and stupid, but I guess I'm one of the people who goes for stuff like that.

Ugh would you believe I've been out of school for one full year and I STILL don't have a job.Seriously I don't know what I'm doing wrong!!!
GURRR it just doesn't seem fair... but thank fully my college has openings for jobs and this week I'll go ask them. Yeah cause there are so few good fan fiction on dA and I want to improve on my writing skills too...
The teacher was excellent, but the program was almost kindergarten level, and when I got to CCRI was overwhelmed by the curriculum that artists had to know. And I mean HAD to know lord by my second year I was likeon the floor.
No no no no, I miss spoke, been really quirky lately:euphoric:, and what I meant to say was that I'd read some really odd chack fiction lately, also wanted to tell you that we could do better. Some how that got jumbled up in that last part of the email sorry hun.
Still pals

You're doing nothing wrong! Everyone else with no skills is out there stealing all the good jobs and you're left to scramble around for a decent job! Ugh, I wouldn't have a job if my brother had come home this summer, it was entirely luck! But, go ask about those jobs and see how it goes! Chya, we must contribute some good fanfics to this site.
Ah, well at least the teacher was good. It sounds like you needed to make a big jump! What would you have changed about the course? Just how much you learned?
OOOOOOOHHH!! Okay! Sorry I misunderstood! Don't worry, we still pals! And I'm pretty sure that we can do better than those weird Chack fics you read. Any one in particular stick out?

Ugh the only people that are hiring in this area are retail positions and those are scooped up in a heart beat in this area. Thing is it'd be a WHOLE lot nicer if the State I live in wasn't a corrupted mess. Anyway you don't want me to rant on politics so... Yes!!! Goodness it seems as if three year olds could have come up with better with the ones I've read currently.
Yeah she at least helped me pass a lot of the art history later on... Oh it was so overwhelming it was scary!? I mean going from being a living copy machine (i.e copying from mags) to drawing a hallway with nothing but my perspective was maddening. I could tell that others were so far ahead of me seriously it was enough to make me want to quit. But looking back I'm happy to have stuck it out.
Lols good, the one that we'd talked about that really got to me deeply was Dwayne (sp) the Skunk, because I've got a dundundun Setting in mind.

Holy hell, this took a long time to respond!! I'm so sorry once again! I am now officially a junior in high school and it has been killing me! Chem is destroying me, math is destroying me, college is destroying me! And yet, not one of those things is a good excuse for responding this late, I'm so sorry once again!
Okay, so it's been a while since you left this comment. Any progress on the job hunt? I hope so! I wouldn't mind if you ranted about politics, honestly. I need to be a little more well-versed in that area myself. Ain't that the truth! I realize that this site is for non-professionals, but this is just ridiculous! So, we shall remedy that!
It's always good to stick it out, good on ya for hanging in there! I feel like that with a lot of my other courses, art is actually one of my fortes. Math and science, not so much! It might also have been a case of little-fish-big-pond syndrome. You might have just had all the next Da Vinci's in your class.
OHMIGAWD, do tell!!!! If you remember, that is, I hope you do, once again I'm sorry for responding so late!! I can't wait to hear about Dwayne the Skunk, cuz that was some funny shit we came up with!!

Wow haven't heard from you in a while, um I graduated from CCRI and now am attending RIC for my bachelor degree in Fine Arts. I am actually a junior at the college so I have a few classes left. Ah again in the long run education is more important.
As for the job hunt not so good I'm afraid, really people are losing their jobs left and right I'm just glad we're treading water at this point. Oh politics will just make you depressed, and makes me wonder if there is a God at times. One of our politicians got into congress by blatantly lying to everyone. He lied, he cheated, he stole and he threatened his way up but worst of all he succeeded. Now he is in the middle east trying to "fix" up what is wrong with them when our roads look like landmines have gone off, the city is a pit, and we are millions of dollars in debt. We're on the verge of bankrupsy all at the hands of that one man (was our major) and the idiots of this state give him more power?! Is it me or is something wrong with this picture...
Anyway, yeah but if your going to post something on the internet at all at least make it worth while. No one wants to spend their time on something half assed. Yeah art is one of the best subjects out there, because when your having a bad day nothing is more calming than art class. No I don't think they were particularly geinus's, more like they understood the material and knew how to use the tools with more accuracy but eh now I can bust out an A project no problem now.
Lol I always thought standing out was bad but in reality it seems that is one of the 'tools' artists are really good at... I had bought a hat on vacation and have been wearing it all winter, for some reason everyone loves the crap out of it, even had many students offer to buy it off of me. Its this really cute fox hat kind of a beanie/pilot hat with pointy ears, button eyes, and a cute little nose. I had gotten it because it reminded me of a comic on dA known as Stupid Fox it really looks like him though I doubt anyone else would get the connection.
As for the skunk story yeah I sort of remember, when Jack meets Dwayne the skunk I'd thought of the place most fitting would be in back of a strip mall. Spicer had just lost a showdown and the skunk being curious about him... thats all I really remember oooh I know I had more to it oh right um Wuya's undies and Chase's boxers being stolen by the skunk lol... does that help?
