It is as it says on the tin. This is a pic of the very first time I crossdressed in public. It was for the birthday party I mentioned in an earlier post and the birthday girl is the one that took this pic.

I still remember this as the most exciting and yet scariest thing I've ever done. I packed the whole outfit in a sports bag and rode the city bus until the closest drop-off, halfway to her house. I ducked into a gas station to change into the outfit which luckily, the bathrooms were extremely close to the door. It took me 30 minutes and I didn't even put on makeup because of how hot it was. With my street clothes now in the bag, I had to take a lot of deep, calming breaths and pull my hat over my eyes. Then I steeled my nerves and stepped outside. I clearly recall telling myself not to look at anyone. Just take one step after another and try to get to her house as as fast as those heels allowed. I do recall several people staring at me with intensity as I walked by. There was one lady whom was watering her lawn, construction workers whom were focused a bit longer than I was comfortable with and one guy riding by that made wolfcalls. It seemed like every time I was starting to get comfortable, someone would make me nervous all over again.

The worst part of it all was the walk. Those heels were not made for outdoors and I learned that the hard way. There was one point where I had to cross a driveway full of gravel. I was almost in tears when I saw it.

Getting back to the pic, in my opinion, it's shabby. I didn't have a waist-cinching corset at the time and that petticoat is only 30-yards so it just doesn't have the puffiness that I loved.I should have safety-pinned the cuffs to the blouse so they'd stop slipping so much. Yes, I made a lot of mistakes but it's still a fond memory because I finally got the nerve to do what I had been dreaming of for months.
